2026 Elks Talk

Gotta believe they will incorporate the old moniker somehow. On their jersey maybe?

Please note: not here to argue about monikers, just stating what feels like a fair presumption.

Go figure, it’s the only game in town until the home opener on 20 June, which is also the only home game scheduled in June.

Uh-oh - 10-yard end zones. Prepare for incoming rage posts.

It was set up for the World Junior football championships at the time, hence the Football Canada Logo.

I remeber the last game at old Clarke Park it rained so hard you couldn’t see Commonwealth, I remember it because usually in rain like that, there is a mass exodus and yet very few left.

If anyone ever gets the chance to take in one of these tours with Dwayne Mandrusiak at Commonwealth Stadium it’s well worth it. We had the privilege of going last night. We loved this tour and all the interesting stories. We are excited to see our EE return to our glory days.

I’m not sure why it isn’t customary to simply pick up the phone and thank a player for their time with the EE. Free agent or not it may go a long way towards continuing to improve our EE culture. A few players have mentioned lately that no one reached out to them. The GM (Ed Hervey) should be more courteous in my opinion. I hope Kurleigh Gittens Jr does well as a Tiger-Cat. It shouldn’t hurt him to have one of the smartest QB’s to play in the CFL throwing to him.

I am gameday staff for the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the BCHL. Couldn’t resist going into enemy terrority as the Spruce Grove Saints had a “Green and Goals” cross promo with the Elks tonight.

Mark Korte, Tyrell Ford and Nick Anderson were there.

For those who don’t know the Saints play at the “Larry Thompson Arena” inside the Heavy Metal sports complex. Deb Thompson dropped the ceremonial mini-football.
