Sometimes its a money issue too. Like Taylor Heinicke is a serviceable NFL backup but not at a minimum of $2M he would need to be signed. May as well develop a young practice squad guy at $400k and see if he can shine in 2-3 years as opposed to guys on the wrong side of 30 years old.

Thatâs another one that was easy to think through before the season, but I suppose they figured, â3 attempts to get it in the end zone by each team on the five yard line, best two out of three wins, then maybe only one would win it if 1-0, but zero success is NOT going to happen, but letâs have sudden death after that just in case but we wonât need it.â
And then it happened right there on a Friday night in a game that lasted 3.5 hours and pissed off so many folks last Friday, including those looking for their local news.
And then it took them what felt like over five minutes and a commercial break to sort it out for the audience as well as the teams as Dean Blandino was in the hot seat blathering on and on after having to explain the situation to the referee, who he himself was baffled.
There is no sugar-coating it - that was bush league and steaming hot bullshit, but it never should have happened.

Well only the official standing directly under the goal post, whose job is to look straight up, would truly know when a kick sails above the top of the post.
Directly even over the post counts as good mind you, which is why the tuning forks are so tall.
I always found that to be a strange rule, for even heading right into a post would be a doink and a miss, but then again it would be difficult to have a rule for the ball to be âcompletely insideâ when sailing over the top of the post.
I suppose itâs a reward for kicking that ball so damn high too.

And I bet in that 4480 they counted the staff like security, parking, concessions, sideline non-coaches, medical, law enforcement, and media staff on the sidelines and in the stands too.
