I mean it still needs pending BOG approval from AHL but i cant see how it wouldnt pass the approval
Yeah now that the team and the city has made the announcement it would be super awkward if anyone tried to stop it.
I expect that there must be some sort of “informal” approval in place … in fact, I expect AHL affiliations are basically a rubber stamp

This is why i think they will go to North Division
The North and the Central are the divisions that can accept a new member without any further alignment juggling as they have 7 teams while the Atlantic has 8 and the Pacific 10 … so they are the only realistic options … for the reasons you stated, the North makes the most sense
