Bomber News and Discussion 2026

Updated Feb 26

Here are a few things to note, according to Ed Tait:

  1. It seems that Broxton is slated to play RT, Vanterpool and Randolph rotating in the interior.
  2. The battle for the 2nd DE is between Jaworski, Jenkins, and De’Shaan Dixon. Ceresna can also rotate into there periodically.
  3. LB will be a competition, nothing determined after Santos-Knox signing.
  4. For 5 receiver sets, it sounds like we’re going with 3 Canadian receivers, so the upper hand goes to Nield for second field-side SB position.
  5. Interior secondary is set in stone so Lamont is likely first up to take the other CB spot across from Moxey.

You’d think that with his play last season, Tony Jones had earned a spot in 2026.

You and me both. My hunch is either they don’t trust Kyrie Wilson staying healthy all season or they’re planning more schemes with 3 up front.

Kyrie Wilson played in 4 games and injured his achilles in 2022, returned in 23 and played 10 games and only 8 games in 24. He was relatively healthy last season but health has been a concern with Kyrie and of course his age, he’ll turn 34 yrs this year. If he can stay healthy then great but its good to have insurance or to have another player spell him off or transition in Woodbey or Shea. Training camp should be interesting anyway.

Tait hinted that it will be mostly Collaros in pre-season due to new HC, so it might be more worth it to attend than usual.

My money’s on Bryce Perkins locking up the number two spot behind Zach Collaros almost right off the bat which could give us a viable option at QB should Zach trip over a yard stripe and be out for five or six games as expected.

We’re still perilously weak at every offensive line position but ‘Broxton’ (I’m giving him his own category). So let’s just nip this problem in the bud draft by selecting the best Canadian Tight End available and work him in as our permanent 6th offensive lineman.

Introducing (drum roll please) big Liam Silverson who has a good pair of hands and packs a considerable punch on incoming QB Killers:

TE Liam Silverson, Queen’s University (Kingston, Ont.)

This draft class is unusually packed with high-quality H-Backs and tight ends, but that doesn’t mean that Silverson’s six-foot-six, 246-pound frame can be ignored. The Kingston native saw his role with the Gaels expand once his predecessor — and top 2026 Draft prospect — Niklas Henning was moved to offensive tackle, and he shows equally intriguing movement skills for his size. While he doesn’t always bend well enough to blow opponents out of the hole, there are enough highlight reel blocks on his tape to merit a longer look.

Note the 6’ 6” height advantage this guy has on puny CFLers thanks to the Flintstones vitamins addiction he had as an infant.

While he was still in diapers his parents would drag him off to the gym where he’d lift ten plates per side while high on Fruity Pebbles. No ‘time-out’ could hold him. By the time he was walking he could rip the door off his daycare. His first words were “goo goo ga ga Hulk smash” He got his gang tattoos while in kindergarten prison for beating up the potty trainer.

That guy was one scary child growing up and now that he’s a scary adult he’s ours… ALL OURS come draft day.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Flintstones vitamins — a flashback…

They were quite tasty by vitamin standards.
My aunt would give me one per day, which was never enough.
I have a distinct memory of being about 4 years old, grabbing the bottle, running to my great-grandmothers room & jumping underneath the bed.
My aunt screamed at me while I devoured, likely half of the bottle.

This seemed to cure my fascination/addiction with them because I only did this once.

There are Elgersma haters?

We’ll see how it goes. Apparently he had access to a good attorney to help with the current immigration paperwork demanded via Washington.

He chose one of the shittier markets too, but hey it has been essentially a stealth reboot as the UFL 5.0 now.

Now we know that his plan this year is simply UFL, NFL Camp, and one last shot to make an NFL team.

Not here. We’re all Elgersma lovers on this thread which makes us a ‘hate group’.

To be clear (maybe it’s too late for that), we hate Elgersma haters… we just hate ‘em.

So this was a post by esteemed forum commenter Pirate (Canada) Jack, who enjoys lucha libre as well, also perhaps with tequila at hand!

Now for the sake of spectacle and controlled chaos, will there be a Pro Wrestling Night at the stadium this season?

Who was it amongst you who showed up to that exhibition in the pre-game last season and shared with us a photo of some of the action in the game thread!

That was one of the most fun games and game threads too!

I also remember that it was rumoured that he showed up to the game in his white tights and was depicted in a photo he shared in the back of the ring, as if getting ready to jump off the ropes and join in for the exhibition after taking of his shirt. It’s okay, it’s your thing, WE UNDERSTAND!

Only if our hefty ginormous GM Wade Miller is allowed to suit up as his alter ego ‘Mucho Fatso’.

Miller’s record of Sit-Crushing opponents will never be equaled in our lifetimes.

BREAKING NEWS… WE HAVE BREAKING NEWS…

This just in:

Kyle Walters has successfully restructured fading star QB Zach Collaros’ massive $600K contract ALL THE WAY DOWN to $550K which will save our team a whopping $50K in cap space.

Woohoo!!!

Hold the presses, I’m now being told that the entire $50K savings may amount to considerably less once legal, agent bribery and postal fees are factored in. So how much did we win Johnny?

‘Thirty five cents’?!!

Well darn those costly postage stamps.

Let the celebrations begin anyway!!!

Ah damnit. As your local reputation grows, I figured with $50K gross that there would be enough room left in so that you could skim a few $100 bills to take care of a few nuisances for them.

Don’t give up though.

I don’t know this James Larsen guy but the only things I’ve seen people discussing about Elgersma is that he’ll have a steep hill to climb to get on an NFL roster and that he may have had a hard time getting a work visa for the UFL. Both probably mostly true. I think the word ‘hate’ gets thrown around for pretty much anything these days. Not like when you and I were kids Maaax!

I’m sure most people want to see this guy succeed down south but Bombers were smart enough to take a flyer on him just in case nothing pans out.

This part however does not appear to be true any longer, or Eigersma would not have been spotted in training camp, as noted above.

And they used their extra draft pick they received for playing more Nationals than required so its not as if they wasted a regular pick.
