Which makes the author of the article lose all credibility. That he could suggest that Cody Fajardo, Mr. MOR, has a case for being top 3 in the league, or Chad Kelly, who hasn’t played football in 1.5 years, but leave out Alexander, is ludicrous.
Love Alexander or hate him; it’s up to you. But it’s silly to mention literally every other starting QB in the league but the guy who broke the record for most consecutive wins to start a CFL career and led his team to a Grey Cup appearance on one good leg.

Randy Melvin is another ex-Ticat coach that is on the Lion’s staff.
Probably has to do with his overall body of work. He has nowhere near the sample size as the guys in the Top-3.
If Alexander keeps playing at a high level for the next year or so, then future articles will no doubt have to include him in that Top-3 list.

Austin wore all 3 of those hats here in Hamilton, and I think it eventually burned him out.
I think titles get thrown around pretty loosely in some situations, possibly to allow for pay bumps within the football ops cap. Burke likely still does all the legwork when it comes to managing player contracts and salary cap. I could see Dinwiddie having final say in who gets brought into camp and may be more involved than he was in Toronto with looking at game film of prospects but Ottawa would still have a full-fledged scouting department. Even Austin when he first came here leaned heavily on Tillman the first few years.

That’s not really what I meant. I actually don’t dispute the top-3 choice at all in the article. I meant that it’s silly for the writer to mention literally every other starting QB in the league as potentially deserving of being on that list but omit Alexander. Like, the writer thinks Dru Brown could be in that conversation but not Davis Alexander? Come now.
