One great idea I heard today via Fox Sports Radio was to make at least one lone exception for any team qualifying for the playoffs that does NOT have OVER a .500 winning percentage (i.e. 9-8 or better) - automatic low seed for the playoffs, AND your ass plays on the road for all playoff games too.
