Thanks so much for doing this. It will make things quite clear. I do have one question for you. Are you going to note where players go if they sign with another team and if we sign players that were on another team, are they going to be under the additions section?
Will include all new players, those are in the “added group” along with draft picks. If a pending FA signs with another team i will try to note it beside their name. Will try to do the same with players we pick up from other teams. Simple enough i suppose.
The list at the other site had the PR players on it. They all became FAs at the end of the season. Will just put them in the “Added” boxes as they sign.
Just noticed a typo in one of the names and I do not know how to fix it for you, or I would without bringing it to attention. The O-Lineman is Noah Zerr not Zeror.
Our second biggest signing of the season: Sammy Boy!!
Probably have to give up KSB but maybe JOD can find a way that keep both. We really need to resign a few of the Americans that will come with a smaller price tag; Robi, Johnson and Meyers but I doubt we can keep the last two together.
Harris took a $190k signing bonus. That applies to this years cap. Therefore he is playing for a max of $320 in 2026.
That suggests to me that we can sign Harris, plus any three of Emilus, KSB, Ouellette and Nield for the price of Rourke and Hatcher or Harris plus any two for the price of Zach and their RB. Mix in Yoshi if you prefer!
See that we are signing a ton of young Dline. Looking to the future. Have to love that!
Merry Xmas!
Merry Christmas!
Wes Cates’ take on which pending FAs need to be extended.
Interesting that he doesn’t consider Ouellette a priority. ![]()
Or Campbell or Reavis.
I took it as his opinion the top three and that’s pretty hard to pick IMO. I though for offence we had to sign Emilus and for defence it’s Allen.
Oh I understood the gist of Cates’ article. I’m just surprised that a former tailback makes no mention whatsoever of Ouellette. Clearly he was an integral part of last season’s success.
At least Campbell and Reavis were mentioned as a footnote. Ouellette, bupkis.
Good point. It is surprising. Unless your name is Oliviera it seems most back get treated as expendable. I suspect they’ve already got a deal with him and are just slow releasing signings. Possibly a new year day release. I can’t imagine him not be re-signed.
Aside from Harris, Cates picked Yoshi and Johnson as the two biggest import needs. Then Emilus, Allen and Nield from the NI side.
Suppose the downside to KSB has been downtime but that happens to the best of them. If you really need a reminder of what Campbell has done for the team, just rewatch the 2024 WF. As for Ouellette, he does everything well and has a great attitude to boot!
Bottom line for me is the talented NI’s for roster flexibility and some must have imports to build around. Then as many of those others that deserve raises as we can afford. PS: Noticed that we’ve been signing a bunch of very good teams players! Those guys are the exceptional and often overlooked guys that helped in a big way to get us the GC! Big players and not much glory!!!
I commented that what Winnipeg is paying Oliviera is quite high, and Emilus got a very similar number. Is one receiver or RB worth that much? If this is what it took to keep him I’m all for it. I’m happy for the players to be getting paid better too.
Really high end Canadian talent is hard to replace but in the case of those two players, they are as good as anybody in the league at what they do. Some guys can out jump Emilus, some are better at high pointing the ball and beating their man. Emilus can do it all and unforntuately, so can Bradey as a RB. Yup, they are worth it.
Thought he wanted to play another year. My guess is they feel good about resigning the rest of the d line and want to keep Micah involved as their leader but see the cap Loney better spent on youth.
He needed plenty of load managing last year and was very effective because of it. He will continue to bring energy to that line and make a great coach!
Apparently i’m no longer able to update the list. They’ve removed the editing tool. If it isn’t resolved i do have a solution. Anyway Campbell has be signed and Thurman has been extended an additional year. We have him for the 2027 season as well! A nice get for the GC year!
Pop off a message to gridirongirl about the editing tool
Happy about both, but with less than 3 weeks until the communication window opens I’m getting a little concerned… Thought/hoped a lot more would’ve re-upped by now (only 10 to date).
Gonna be interesting to see how many test free agency.
