Ya I guess it would have to be Gable but he was hurt for a lot of the time he was here and was off and on the IL For most of his career in the Hammer before being traded to Edmonton mid season in 2017 .
Lawler is special
I was going to try and create a list but after looking at the RB roster over the last 10 years, I decided I have better things to do. ![]()
Most of the seasons were a hodge-podge of different names used in that position. Thomas-Erlington, Alex Green, Mercer Timmis, Wes Hills, Sutton, and so on.
RBs have always been an afterthought around here. It would be nice for Hamilton to have an actually heavy pounding ground game for once. Not only is it beautiful to watch, but it would probably help to keep Bo healthy and upright.
Hopefully one of these new RBs coming to Camp will be a beast.
Speaking of running backs - why is Troy Davis not on the wall of fame? He is the all time leading rusher in Ticat history. He was amazing to watch back in the day.
How about Johnny Shepherd RB with Cats from 1983 to 1986 .
Shepherd only had one decent season while he was here , that being his rookie season . He was on the IL more than he was on the field in his 3 years here after that sensational rookie year . He wound up playing the entire season in 1983 (16 games) and then dressed for only 14 games total(7 games in 84 , 5 in 85 and 2 in 86) in his last 3 seasons here .
Actually I would say that the last productive running back we had for more than two years would have to be Troy Davis who was here from 2001-05 . He was rarely injured and only missed 10 games here in his 5 seasons and had 3 consecutive years as a 1000+ yd rusher .
Cobb had back to back 1,200ish yard seasons before getting released. What have you done for us lately De’Andra? 1,200 yards…..pfffftttt
RBs have been disposable plug and play guys for this team.
From what I remember Cobb was a feast or famine type back - he could rip off a couple big runs in a game but if you needed three tough yards to convert on second down he couldn’t power through. Chevon Walker very similar. Then we had guys like Avon Cobourne or Butler who were more consistent and could carry players for a few extra yards after first contact but generally not breakaway runners. Very hard to find a good all around back (power, speed, blocking, hands) but if you can find three out of those four traits you’re doing well.
Cobb’s problem was between the ears. Hard to reach. But when he was on he was fun to watch.
Ronald Williams
If memory serves me correct Williams replacement in Hamilton was by Troy Davis . Williams and Lancaster couldn’t see eye to eye and had other issues that led to the team releasing Williams halfway thru the 2001 season . I believe he went on to play a few more seasons in Edmonton but never regained the form or success that he had well he was here in the Hammer.
Willie Bethea
he was a beast in short yardage
1. A GAME AWAY
“We were a game away, and we didn’t lose a lot of our team,” star receiver Kenny Lawler said during the CFL’s off-season content capture in April. “We got a taste of how close we could get, and now it’s time to take that next step.”

2. FAMILIARITY FOR BO LEVI MITCHELL
The Ticats will go as far as Bo Levi Mitchell takes them.
Under head coach and offensive coordinator Scott Milanovich, Mitchell has delivered the two most productive seasons of his career.

3. WYNTON MCMANIS MANNING THE MIDDLE
After allowing the most yards per game among playoff teams in 2025 and losing contributors in the secondary, the Tiger-Cats’ defence needed a stabilizing presence. McManis brings exactly that, especially against the run
Maybe we need to write in to prop up that article.
We also lost Murray from the O-Line.
No mention of Moxey to Winnipeg
Landmark move signing Revenberg….really. We have signed him many different off seasons.
Need to draft a high quality O-Lineman, a reliable National WR, bolster DLine depth, and stock up on National DBs. GOOD luck with this.
Need to draft Canadians at all the spots where CFL teams generally play Canadians… Shocking news!
I particularly like the part where he mentions that we lost Tim White (American), added Gittens (Canadian) and therefore need more Canadian receivers.
2013 grey cup. Cheaters!!!
