Indeed, thank you for starting us off in pulling back the old Iron Curtain of the old forum.
It’s already an entertaining and cathartic exercise, strangely at the same time, to pull that curtain back all the more, sort of like one of the shared recent experiences of a commenter riding in a car in heavy Toronto traffic, but finally being able to tell the driver and all of us what HE REALLY THINKS about audio choices like TSN radio! Don’t you wish to be able to do the very same in heavy traffic near you!?
But wait before you jump in and answer, there’s more!
There was a rumour at the old place about a Mod Barn for a very long time.
I used to pester the Mods about it regularly.
It was said to contain all kinds of commercial-grade power tools and industrial equipment used by the moderators in their heavier moderation operations, as well as its own stash that included fine aged whisky from Canada as well as moonshine along with a reported ganja growing operation.
Well I bring good news to the new forum. Once I heard about the looming time of troubles over there, I told Captain Timbers about the rumour, and he immediately ordered me and the entire crew to find and to ransack the Mod Barn!
With the help of Pirate Cat and some hounds, we found the fabled Mod Barn and looted it for some of our own booty in line with our nominal fee on Pirate Scale as outlined in the Code of the Sea, granting the forum a 10% discount for being such a loyal customer over the years, but also burned that Mod Barn down to a crisp right before we burned down the old CFL forum server room as well, for no extra charge!
They thought that Halon fire extinguisher system would save their data too, ha ha ha ha, we showed them!
You see, when I stated over there in one of my last posts that I was “going out in a blaze of glory!", few knew that I meant it beyond that lasting image that killed off the political thread!
And so we have secured all the heavy tools and equipment and much of the stash for the moderators so that they can build their new Mod Barn or Modhouse clubhouse or whatever over here now.
