And here we are back those of us who are big fans of also the NFL!
In this holiday season, whatever holidays you celebrate,
Happy Festivus now in progress for some of you and Happy Hanukkah starting tonight for anybody reading as well,
we have now before us all this Sunday morning a great time also to honour the finer traditions of yore,
as in via the old forum, with of course many other less desirable things flushed away FOREVER, for of course our crew did also burn down the server room after we salvaged the fine booty in the hidden Mod Barn of the old site, but I digress and there’s another post about that affair.
Enjoy the great NFL action today.
We had our first snow overnight here in Philadelphia, and it was MORE than forecast too, but it’s a healthy puffy snow and no big deal but for those hare-brained folks acting like this is the first time they have ever seen snow in their lives, which unless kids or pets under the age of 4, it is simply not true.
I’m sure the field will be cleared of snow here in Philadelphia, and these conditions you would think would give the Eagles’ offence the edge, but as a fan I damn well know better on this year’s team!
If the Eagles don’t score in the first quarter, or perhaps merely a field goal, the Boo Birds will be out in force, and rightfully so, for we hold our team accountable and DO NOT accept excuses here in Philadelphia!
Ho-hum Eagles’ game notes …wow is the NFL viewing experience in December generally awful with the nature of the breaks for ads.
Hurts pulled up a bit limp after a run as we go to the start of the fourth quarter up 24-0. It’s time for one more score, just now as I type, so 31-0 and let’s sit down Hurts, given that the next game is next Saturday!?
I saw the first ad, about two weeks later than usual, for the UFL.
Holiday commercials are record-setting diarrhoea this year, especially recycled holiday commercials from prior years! Now we go to some gastrointestinal prescription medicine commercial. See what I mean? Ay yai yai!
Me too! Goodness me, where were these Ravens all season?
I had figured wrongly that the Bengals wanted to play angry spoiler today, but like the Raiders and the Browns, the motivation for a team not going to be in the postseason on this average cold December day is apparently lower than I had thought.
Patriots led all game and at one time seemed to have the game well in hand.
Edit: after Buffalo’s TD Henderson of NE goes 65 yards for a TD on the first play from scrimmage and NE now up 31-28. This looks like a good finish coming up.
And then the Bills take it all the way back the other way 35-31 now Bills, courtesy of a pass interference call on third down, which was close but correct, so we have a good old-fashioned shootout like it’s the Jets and Dolphins in Miami in the 1980s in the AFC East, but in frigid Foxboro, Mass.!
The only thing perhaps missing in this game, out of place but in place for those in the know, would be two dudes dressed as Miami Vice, like back in the day.
