Onto the second game now. I had to do a double-take, for at first glance, I thought these were the Colts playing today, with the Vikings in all-white and what looks more like blue than purple to me.

I’m looking at the score line to that first game. It looked like it could have been better after the third quarter, then boring?

Those Cowboys are now aiming high for bragging rights for some time around the NFL Draft in April:

ā€œYeah, we had .500 in winning percentage in the 2025 season!ā€

Vikings 7, Lions 0 late in the first quarter

These Detroit Lions are having a hard time against these Vikings so far. The Vikings got the better of them in Detroit in early November.

Both these games are indoors every single season, so there are no excuses for poor performance in the long passing game or in the kicking game.

EDIT

Late in the second quarter, Vikings 7, Lions 7, on an incredible catch on a high throw by TeSlaa on fourth down after quite the goal line stand by the Vikings.

And apparently Snoop Dogg will perform at halftime.

EDIT 2

Snoop is on with the show. I think it’s a creepy start to the show too. But hey, fun for the whole (American) family!? The rest appears to be heavy cheeseball factor, but hey this production all looks as American as Uncle Sam and Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse now, so they did well there.

I’m sure the audience loves it all. Enjoy if you are watching. I tuned out at ā€œNuthin’ But A G Thang.ā€ Strange timing for this show today!

Over to you now, Ebeneezer G!

clearly injuries to Det D and Oline are the main problem for them, but Choker Goff sure isnt helping the cause

They were awful. No other way to put it. That’s a really bad loss.

this chefs - broncos game is ugly

The Vikings D was on point tonight, they’ve been pretty good all season. The Lions are who we thought they were, which is certainly not SB contenders.

Thankfully, I haven’t watched a second of these games today.

I’ve been having a Tales From the Crypt marathon.

We’re celebrating Christmas tomorrow.

The Lions are FRAUDS too. There’s no way around it.

Bwah ha ha ha I heard your haughty laugh after that ICE COLD delivery there you viking buster!

The thing is i don’t think i would be too far off in saying that the Vikings would most certainly have made the playoffs if they would have gotten solid consistent play from the QB position. They didn’t and that’s the end of the story but you can bet KOC will learn from this and have a reliable backup in place next season.

I watched the second game, and I HATED the Netflix production, which was overly cartoonish and fully of gimmicks and interruptions, including interviews during the damn game, which was never a good idea.

I had enough in the third quarter of listening to all that noise as if watching a game played in some shopping mall full of cheesy people.

Now I’m dead set against Netflix for any more NFL games, and hopefully they lose the rights to Christmas Day too. SCREW YOU NETFLIX! Stick to videos and some fights!

That’s one massive hypotethical proposition there - on to next season.

ā€œReliable backupā€ is also different than ā€œwinning backup", and they are rare and rarer respectively.

I think Mariota, Mac Jones, Winston, Brissett to name just a few would have provided decent enough backup play to get the Vikings in to the playoffs. Having to rely on a banged up Wentz and aā€ who is this guy?ā€ Brosmer was too much to overcome. As you say on to next season, glad they ended the Lions season at any rate.

Yay, the Broncos won, because also SCREW THE CHIEFS!

They’d have been more screwed had they won. They’re already out of the playoffs so a loss just helps their draft position.

You know who’s really screwed? The folks in Kansas. I read more about their stadium deal.

It’s now time for a True Paolo Kansas Story. I’m hardly surprised that a state like Kansas would screw over taxpayers, for I grew up in Indiana, which for all the rants about business-friendly and whatever, did the same with the Colts back in 2008 - ah, the price of winning a Super Bowl and later to be able to host one, damn the Great Recession!

Kansas has been and remains on my utter SHITLIST of our states, which contains a few other notables that I will keep confidential, but I did lift New Jersey off the list this year because well, I have family living there now and I do have to go over there, and well, let’s just say they have good liquor stores in New Jersey and the best prices and selection on wine I’ve seen anywhere in the country.

A few years ago I had a small business selling stuff on my own website and via eBay. Go figure, the timing ended up better due to the pandemic, and I had a good run with it, including with a big customer in Ontario and obtaining product from Canada!

Anyway, they changed the sales tax rules in 2019 such that in most states, there was no longer anyway around paying sales tax via orders online, which was phased in through 2022.

Then came Kansas, which not only taxed all food products including candy at a higher rate plus had localities with local taxes, but also required separate reporting from businesses of all sizes with no de minimis exception like all other states.

And so what did I do? :fu: Kansas - I basically stated that we don’t deliver to Kansas, for it was not worth the trouble.

I don’t know what’s happened since I closed up that shop in 2023, and I don’t care, but the Kansas Chiefs stay on my shitlist now too.

NFL Week 17 Saturday Football

Coming up this evening and tonight for NFL Saturday football are two interesting games with otherwise shitty media scheduling, for those watching in the United States, though in Canada fans might have easier access as some of us south of the border sail the high seas.

Peacock is basically corporate charity by the NFL so that Comcast can pretend like it’s relevant and have a disguised pay-per-view for the night, and after selling almost all of NFL Media in August 2025 right before the season, why the NFL still has games on the NFL Network like it’s still 2010 or so is baffling, but then again the NFL Network is now owned by ESPN, with perhaps have some stupid NCAA bowl game nobody cares about on tonight on ESPN. The NFL also now owns 10% of ESPN.

The Texans have more playoff incentive to win tonight on the road at Chargers in the first game so as to increase their playoff standing so as to not face perhaps the Patriots on the road.

Then later comes Ravens at Packers, which for the Ravens is effectively their first playoff game. The Ravens must win, or that’ll be another tale of ā€œwhat could have beenā€ for them and all their great players.

yessss looking forward to some saturday football of the 4 down variety

the first game is a nice afternoon affair for us west-coasters and it could be a good one.

i’m not happy about that second game because a) my ravens are shite again and LJ prob won’t play; and b) faahk the packers
