2026 NFL Off-Season

But we just lost our Punter!

Our special teams unit went from the best in NFL history with Tucker, Cox, and Koch, to this group of misfits in like 4 years :sob:

Here is the free agency tracker, for the flow of NFL news will be fast and furious starting today.

Atlanta, Minnesota, New Jets, Indianapolis, and Cleveland all continue to vie for the annual title of “Supreme NFL Quarterback Dumping Ground.”

All I see so far in Philadelphia for new players is one new tight end and one new cornerback, noting also tight end Grant Calcaterra re-signed with terms undisclosed.

The news on tight ends suggests a continuation of more of the same on offense as even of yore since the days of Andy Reid, when a West Coast hybrid offense was often run using the short passing game to the tight end and to a running back. But the offense here in Philadelphia needs so much more, especially now that the Tush Push is going to be history.

In case you missed it, here was a final tribute to the Tush Push by Jason Kelce and Peyton Manning, who switched positions to run a few plays.

Go figure, hide the head and Jason Kelce looks like Manning in his playing days and Peyton, well he looks like “Fat Jason,” whom we remember :face_with_peeking_eye: all too well shirtless and chugging beer sitting near Taylor Swift in her suite at Arrowhead Stadium when they were watching his brother play.

Some Higlights from 11 March 2026, Day One of Free Agency, Plus Recent News

Houston Texans - Note that the Texans retained four key players with expiring contracts on that dominating defense and then signed a few more for their defense. I suppose they’ll now try via the NFL Draft and the trade window to take care of much to do on offense.

Seattle Seahawks - Same as above to retain four key players, but they already do have a fine offense

It was not hard to see the following coming after the deal for Maxx Crosby was off due to a failed physical exam:

Snagged from the Eagles

I’ll take the over here for the Bills

Alex Singleton at Denver – still a badass, and now he’s a richer one too

I’ll sit this one out though

I’ll take the over as follows

At age 32 coming off a season in which he only played 8 games due to injury, do the ‘49ers know something about the physical condition of Mike Evans that we do not? If they do and Evans is healed, you bet he could have heavy game still in him.

Look at these numbers already in his career!

Evans rewrote the Buccaneers’ record book during his time in Tampa. He ranks first in franchise history in receiving yards (13,052), receptions (866) and touchdown catches (108). His 11 consecutive seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards to begin a career are the most in NFL history. Evans’ streak of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons is tied with Jerry Rice for the most in NFL history.

Evans is 21st in NFL history in career receiving yards and 10th in career touchdown receptions.

Proposed NFL Thanksgiving Week Schedule 2026

After starting the tradition of a Black Friday game in 2023, the NFL is exploring the possibility of adding another game to the schedule during Thanksgiving week. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones reports the NFL is considering playing a game on the night before Thanksgiving.

If the league follows through with the idea, that means the NFL would hold a game on Thanksgiving Eve, which falls on Wednesday, Nov. 25 this year. If this game happens, that means the NFL would have at least one game on the schedule for seven out of nine days starting on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

The schedule would look like this:

  • Sunday (Nov. 22): Regular Sunday slate

  • Monday (Nov. 23): One game

  • Thanksgiving Eve (Nov. 25): One game

  • Thanksgiving (Nov. 26): Three games

  • Black Friday (Nov. 27): One or two games

  • Saturday: No games

  • Sunday (Nov. 29): Regular Sunday slate

  • Monday (Nov. 30): One game

Games on Wednesday Thanksgiving Eve and on Black Friday suck, unless perhaps it is Friday night. We shall see and all the better instead of that daytime Friday bullshit.

Saturday would be great for games even though there are some good college football rivalry games that same day, but they are not allowed by law at such time.

I think overall this also simply a massive gambling play to target fans when they are often off work and on travel and drinking during that week.

haha wtf i thought Dalton retired already

Shouldn’t his name now legally be, “Journeyman Quarterback Andy Dalton?”

I was thinking more “Retired But Still Playing Quarterback Andy Dalton,” but that’s probably too long in the tooth too.

i can’t believe teams are going to pay Dalton and Wentz money. might as well give Rivers a call.

When Dalton is in there as backup and if he poops the bed, especially with a turnover, it’s not going to go too well for him with the fans and the local media either.

lol he played a game last season and got smoked by the bills. sacked 7 times and 3 apple turnovers

Dalton, who turns 39 in October, is entering his 16th NFL season and his fourth as a backup, after spending most of the past three seasons on the bench behind Young. He went 1-6 in seven starts for Carolina, losing his only start in 2025, when he threw for 175 yards, was sacked seven times and committed three turnovers in a 40-9 home defeat to the Buffalo Bills.
