Alright, I’ll be at work tonight as perhaps others are watching Netflix or are playing padel again, so I will miss it all, but I know some of you are already gearing up for this action tonight on Dogshit Sports!
I am looking forward to reading later your HOT TAKES from during the game.
If Repole shows up, maybe we’ll even get a solid F-bomb live on air!
Really enjoy the transparency from Repole. Id like to see an earlier start and more consistent scheduling next season. Also, introduce a designated player spot per team. One player that makes $200-250k, preferably a local name, to also help with off-season marketing and engagement events. Speaking of marketing, why the hell is the DC director of marketing pulling double duty for the Storm while working remotely from Orlando?!?!?
I’m not on Twitter, but I like his reaching out at the very least though not much else about him other than his past track record of business success.
What is working is smaller venues when they are filled better.
What’s not working is a laundry list:
The presentation on air with too many sideline interviews and distractions from the play on the field
The pace of play is too slow, including officials still taking too damn long on routine calls as opposed to on those close calls late in the game, when more time is merited
Three hours is too long a time slot on TV. See the previous point.
Meh the new rules do not enhance the product, including all gimmicks. Just copy almost all the NFL rules, though the one entire foot inbounds for a catch is a good rule as one example.
The dynamic kickoff has to be redone. Just have the kicking team players run from the point of the kick like before. Then have the receiving team players only line up as far up as their 40-yard line and cannot cross it until the kick is touched by the receiving team. Get rid of also the landing zone requirement for kicks and instead have a requirement that a kick must travel at least past the opposing 40-yard line or the receiving team gets the ball right there like now. We don’t need to watch the damn kickoff sail and land short of the 20 and see a penalty flag so often. Let’s see the action play out on almost every kickoff except for those major touchbacks.
All owners belong in a press box and not on a sideline until at least the final seconds when a game has been won.
Ditch ESPN or at the very least, their vintage 2014 Maction production for your PRO league, you damn fools!
Ditch Dogshit Sports aka FS1 for all games - use a FAST channel or Tubi instead if you cannot put a game on Fox or the NFL Network (also not preferred and owned by ESPN, see previous comment)
Get your eight-team league right before you start talking about expansion bullshit again.
There’s zero chance all games will be on network TV, even the NFL doesnt manage that. Im fine with 60% ABC/Fox, 30% ESPN, and remaining 10% tubi/ESPN2/FS1. I like the 1ft in bounds and bringing back the PAT. Punt rule doesn’t really bother me but they should absolutely allow coffin kicks. Find smaller stadiums for St Louis and Birmingham and get these teams in their markets full-time. No more Cos-playing as a team from DC when 95% of the time they’re in Arlington.
That’s not what I stated. Your proposal is the status quo and sucks, so it’s a hard no. Just over-the-air and Tubi or FAST channels will do the job. Screw cable channels.
