I just had a look at the site. Wow, they have six blazing teams for what appears to be a another reboot.

The Berlin Thunder and Rhein Fire are the legacy teams from the days of NFL Europe.

The “Alpine Rams” are a new team based in Switzerland.

There were never any Vikings in Vienna, Austria!

The Polish team in Wroclaw apparently stole their logo from Carolina and opted for the side view.

If you think the weather is bad for spring football in much of the US through usually at least early April, yikes, spring football in European weather from Paris to Vienna and Wroclaw, the latter two about the same distance to the east, has to be dreadful and akin to spring football in Chicago!

So this is different from the European Football Alliance? It looks like the ELF split into 2 leagues. I wonder how long that lasts and whether they return to one unified league or one just out-competes the other.

One of the interesting QB prospects on the Ticats Neg List signed for Madrid so I’m eager to see how he does out there.

Hello and thank you for linking to my ELFpedia project. I just wanted to point out that due to the large number of small leagues, there are now multiple pages for some teams in our wiki.

We did this because we don’t want to mix the statistics, so there is always an EFA page and an old ELF page that serves as an archive.

The EFA page always has EFA: in the URL, for example:

The old page, on the other hand, does not have this; it is the ELF archive of the respective team with stats, etc.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Many of us have followed other leagues than the CFL or NFL or NCAA for years as well, for we love gridiron football if not all football in general.

We have had such threads for leagues operating in Europe in the past on the prior forum as well.

Are there pages with 2026 schedules for the currently operating small leagues in Europe so as to help sort things out for this season?

Thank you again and welcome!

oups, I deleted my post by accident, wanted to fix a typo

Here it is again, sorry!

Thank you for the warm welcome

Currently, there is no schedule for either the AFLE or the EFA. However, we expect one to be released any day now.

As ELFpedia, I am on my own, so I have decided to only cover the EFA for the 2026 season, as it has the better lineup from a sporting perspective and promises to be a very exciting season.

As soon as the EFA schedule is released, I will upload it to my brand new Gamecenter. This will show you all matchups in your local time zone and you can download the icals for your favorite team or the entire season for your calendar.

Here is the link (all data is for testing purposes only and is fictitious)

EFA Schedule now was released, check it here https://gamecenter.elfpedia.eu/ ical download is available too but kickoff times are missing atm.

Here’s the official presser as well

//Edit: I removed the presser and set the gamecenter to maintenance mode. The league asked to take it down, cause it seems something went wrong! I’ll let you know when the “real” schedule is finally there

//Edit 2: AFLE schedule arrived: AFLE – The League Europe

The AFLE has 8 teams in 7 countries, with Berlin and Rhein in Germany.

I have informed Captain Timbers so we can put games on the list of options so as to set sail to capture yar signal.

Their play starts in late May and ends in late August and overlaps much of the CFL season, though with some twists for the CFL due to some additional breaks in the summer.

I think we likely have some good options sometimes when not watching the CFL or otherwise some of the World Cup or Formula 1 or various other options in the summer.

AFL Europe game threads on a slow weekend morning perhaps!?

This league exists sind the 80s and it’s not pro level american football.

A while ago I tried to create a timeline of euroball, I’m sure it’s not at 100% yet, but there’s a lot of history: The Evolution of American Football in Europe

In Norway and most of Europe, it’s all about Private Sports Clubs. A club is a standalone legal entity (like a non-profit).

You don’t “graduate” from it. You can play for the Oslo Vikings from age 10 until you retire at 35.
Unlike North American scholarships, European amateur players usually pay an annual fee to the club to cover field rentals, refs, and equipment.
Leagues aren’t closed “franchises.” If a club in the 2. Division wins the season, they move up to the next better league. If they suck, they get kicked down.

While 95% of the rosters are local amateurs with day jobs, clubs often hire 2–3 North American Imports (usually former D1/D2/D3 players). The club provides them with a small salary, an apartment, and a car to act as “player-coaches” to level up the local talent.

Shocking news: Madrid Bravos (EFA) have just announced that they are withdrawing from league competition. That’s the reason for the schedule problems they had I guess…

Well, don’t we still have the eight teams of the AFLE unaffected?

That looks like all we can count on, with any others in Europe now looking in.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the AFLE yet. So far, they have three competitive teams (Panthers, Fire, Vikings).

The Panthers are still shareholders in the ELF, which could become interesting from a legal perspective. This also applies to the Munich Ravens of the EFA, who are also still ELF shareholders.

All other AFLE teams exist only on paper, or are called Berlin Thunder, which is in bankruptcy, doesn’t have a proper stadium, and has just lost two of its best players and its OC, and has also lost a HC who is now back in the US…

It’s all a big mess and it would be better if all the EFA founding members (i.e., still with the Panthers, Vikings, and Fire) were still together and not split into two leagues.

From a sporting point of view, the AFLE is not in a good position.

Btw: I have now entered the EFA schedule as far as it’s known: https://gamecenter.elfpedia.eu/

Well, as we are looking for some other good football to watch here too when not occupied with other sports and leagues, and as much as you know about this whole damn mess, you sound like maybe just the guy who might be able to help fix it too?

Maybe we have to make some calls after sending messages? You’ll tell them the real score and probably clean some house too I bet.

It’s an important mission, and I’ll tell Superb Owl about this tonight at The Shady Nest.

We’re here to help!

Thank you for the update!
