My father left the area around 1932 so I hear you!

Well, what now until kickoff on 15 May?

It looks like there is steady news on signings.

But we have more questions!

So why are players still signing up for the paper teams in the AFLE? What else is wrong with them?

The EFA is where it’s at!

Now for Mean Titanium Ted @Tedzan_Lord_of_Lions and his cheering interests, which I am going to now support should he change from that damn Frankfurt Galaxy, what of the Cologne Centurions?

My Raiders Tirol stole and signed a British defensive lineman from them. Heh.

Because of the promise of more money I guess

The Cologne Centurions no longer exist, as far as anyone knows. In a way, that’s a shame, because if it hadn’t been for Rhein Fire, they could have become a very strong team back then. Many of the Fire’s key players had previously been with the Centurion. Then there was the added problem of terrible management (the owner of the Helvetic Mercenaries was involved, as was Zeljko Karajica, acting through a front man and one of his many companies)

The Raiders got off to a strong start in the offseason with some great signings. Unfortunately, they’ve already had to replace two key players, including their planned starting quarterback, and several long-time Raiders have left the team (either retired or moved back to their hometown of Vienna, for example).
They really need to step up their game in the homegrown market, because when you look at what the Munich Ravens have signed in recent days, the Raiders are currently one of the weaker teams in terms of players alone. A big plus, of course, is that they have the best European coach as their head coach in Shuan Fatah.

Yes. He counts as an E-Import, due to a competitive comitee exception (normally he wuld be an A-Import)

Alright, I am ready for this league to start now too, but it’s four weeks away.

What’s the latest on the real teams and real play, as opposed to all these signings with paper teams?

The Latest Developments at the EFA

  • The ELF has filed injunctive relief lawsuits against five EFA teams, including the now-disbanded Madrid Bravos. The hearing will take place soon (in Hamburg, Germany). Their goal is to ensure that the teams are permitted to participate in another league.

  • However, the ELF and its assets are currently under the control of the insolvency administrator. This means that someone from the EFA might simply buy the ELF, and the matter would be settled.

  • The ELF website has been down (once again) as of today. This could mean either that they haven’t paid a bill again, or that the sale has already taken place.

  • I’ve spoken with well-informed sources; in any case, they aren’t too worried about the lawsuit. That is also my legal assessment of the situation

There’s not much new to report officially regarding the AFLE, just a few signings here and there.

  • I’ve been told that the London team seems to be around and is even training, but there’s nothing official to report; all we know is that the London Warriors won’t be participating in the 2026 BAFA Premiership.

  • There also seem to be a few TV deals in the works, but no official details have been released.

As for my ELFpedia project, here’s a bit of news

Well thank you for the update again ELFpedia, but that sounds almost all like terrible news.

It sounds like everybody is fighting more in court than going to face each other on the gridiron.

What else is wrong with these people!?

Are you going to be in court too?

In 2024, my attorney was in court for me, so I know what that’s like recently too.

As I told him and have told many an attorney, ā€œNo offense man, but court sucks.ā€ It always gets a chuckle.

Anyway I was his trusty unofficial paralegal all year in what became my second job, and well, by the end of 2024, we won.

If are fighting in court now for gridiron football for a struggling Europe, we are cheering for you too of course.

No, I’m not in Hamburg, and I’m not involved either

The Firenze Red Lions have just announced their ā€œstadiumā€; it’s called Guelfi Sports Center and has a capacity of 750. That’s smaller than the Viennas Vikings’ practice field, which seats just under 1,000
