Bomber News and Discussion 2026

He’s baaaack!

This is an interesting development. I would have thought that we could have run back Tony Jones at MLB with no issue. Have to think neither guy wants to be the backup.

Is one of these guys going to slide over to Weakside LB to cover for the eventual injury to Kyrie Wilson?

Replacing N Gauthier with A Santos-Knox doesn’t make the most sense from a roster ratio perspective.

Talk about a laundry list of Training Camp invites…

And now it’s DB Jonathan Moxley in and DE James Vaughters out.

Maybe Santos-Knox will take Kramdi’s spot and Kramdi will move to the defensive backfield?

Broxton is a great signing. Rourke is gonna miss him on the blind side.

Broxton is a terrific signing. A relatively soft, though game Bomber 0-line was a real slap in da face to eager Bomber fans who saw the obvious decline in Zach Collaros’s mobility and reaction times. (aka progressions).

That said, still have to hope ‘n pray that 40+ yr old Stanley Bryant can hold his bargain another season.

Ceresna on paper is a top upgrade - though his kryptonite are bad knees and too many on-field injuries. A big body with superior brute force to WIlly Jefferson. If they can find an animal to insert into the middle (DT) then WATCH OUT CFL.

Moxey a smallish DB but superior skill. Good signing. Santos-Knox another good one. Can he build on an already semi-brilliant career?

Love to see Dalton Schoen and Chris17 (Streveler) brought in as training camp guest coaches - maybe one of them staying on as roster coaches. Both are super class football players/men who could potentially add to any team the decide to go coaching with.

Unheralded signing is the 31 yr old ex-NFL RB. Could be a great counter-balance to our current superstar Canadian RB.

Tim White another depth signing. James Vaughters? No big loss - even if Sask’n gobbled him up.

It looks like 3DownNation pretty much agrees with your assessment Nasty-Nate… only WR Tim White stands out as a bone of contention (they think he’s still prime target material):

That Nasty Nate - he sure knows the difference between a racehorse and a maggot . . .

Welcome back veteran DB Nick Hallett!

One more safety squared up! Bonds likely out till at least the fall with the torn ACL. I wonder if we move a safety over or as John Hodge suggested Moxey to boundary CB and Vaval stays at field CB.

Ah damnit Nasty Nate. You missed a better opportunity here. You could have gone with something like filet mignon and shank.

Alright, back to work, there’s always a next time, plus this is the pre-season now, so there is still time.

I would personally like to see Vaval used primarily for kick returns. While he does play well in the back field, it would be wise to utilize his maximum potential at one position instead of two. There should be plenty of options come training camp to see who can best fill out these roles.

Vaval has the potential to be an all-star corner, certainly an above average fill-in when not returning kicks.

However, he’s either the best or second best returner in the league with a low turnover rate. He gives the bombers better field position. For a declining Collaros, thats a godsend. Also breaks thru the gates for the odd TD.

Hello Boys, long time no talk!

My early 2026 thoughts: lots of interesting signings, reasons to feel positive.

ALl comes down to QB though, and I’m just not sold that we are a top team there anymore. no reason to think it’ll be any different than the past couple years - Zach will have the occasionally great game, bookended between 2 pretty average games. We really need a backup that can step in and play. Wilson has been around, have to think he has the upperhand over Perkins.

Like the Nield signing, but with Demski & Clercius can we start 3 Canadians? AT least there is quality NI depth with Corocan as well who seems to be that #5 NI clone we’ve had for 20 years.

Oline, I just don’t know if we can pencil Bryant in as a starter anymore - feels silly to say, but it’s reality. Broxton takes his role IMO. Can we keep Bryant as a rotation player? I think we need Wallace to take a step this year and show he’s starter quality. He had moments of greatness and greeness lastyear, but I’m still high on him.

Broxton/Vant/Eli/Wallace/Randolph, with Bryant as the American rotation, and Neuf/Vibert

ALot of questions for me on D, but excited to see if Ceresna can get back o his level of previous years.

Most of all, like many of you I’m excited to see who of our invites steps on the field and makes coaches say “who the heck is that guy?” - in a good way ofcourse!

Still too far away to get too serious, once the snow starts melting I get way more pumped for football!

That was quite a hard-hitting comeback post!

It looks to me like you have been training hard since you last posted in December, but you are now already ready for camp!

Alright, carry on.

I agree that it comes down to QB play for the Bombers, although they were a playoff team last season and the QB play couldn’t get much worse. I think it all comes down to the O-line play, it’s been reconfigured a bit and the new guys from last season have a years more experience and another training camp. Kolo is gone to be replaced by Eli which hopefully is an upgrade or the Bombers draft pick Vibert, we’ll see. If they can provide decent protection and keep Zach upright and not running for his life then i think they will be fine. The defence should be better than last season so that’s something to look forward to. The West division will be highly competitive, the Lions, Stamps will be tough, the Elks will be better with solid QB play from the start of the season and the Riders i believe remains to be seen as they lost quite a bit of talent. Anyway i’m like you and look forward to the snow going and training camps starting up.

Bombers, even with this myriad of “upgrades” will be anywhere from 8-10 to 10-8; the former not good enough to crossover, the latter only good for crossover or 3rd in West.

Major reason - Z. Collaros. He’s 38, definitely lost a step, holds onto the ball too long (he has to based on progressions) and prone to injury. He’ll have the odd great game sandwiched between average to well below average affairs.

Even if an upgraded o-line can give Zach an extra 1/4 to 1/2 second of thinking/progression time, I’m not sure thats enough. Zach invites being slobbernokkered all over hell’s half acre.

If the team, with all its upgrades descends anywhere below 8-10 I’m afraid the Michael O’Shea era ends. Wad Miller is safe so long as ticket & merch sales remain stellar. Kyle Walters will last an additional year after he’s forced to cut O’Shea loose. Like Paul Maurice with the Jets, O’Shea will never be fired - he’ll be given the opportunity to resign - albeit with a hefty pay packet.

What in the world does this mean, and it sounds bad, so how in the world does he invite it?

I think it’s a way of saying Collaros holds on to the ball too long. I guess you can blame him for that but it’s also the responsibility of the receivers to get open if covered or come back to the ball etc etc. It’s easy to blame the QB when a play breaks down.

One reality is that I don’t think Collaros can rely on scramble rules. Losing Schoen, I think Demski is the only receiver who can scramble to break free.
