honestly, they should be giving it to an intern, to both help them and help themselves because i’m sure they could pay less and get the wage subsidies that go with it. seems like an oversight if they are trying to cut costs - the way this position is described and advertised, it will probably attract over-qualified people for what they want (ie: someone to toe the line and who they can boss and delegate work to, and on a cheap salary) - and that leads to a lot of turnover. why do that and shoot themselves in the foot? might as well just go to any of the many universities or colleges that have sports media and marketing programs and get interns - might have turnover but easier to fill the positions. they need the experience too.

for sure it’s what they should do… My faith in them is a little low at the moment. Perhaps I’m wrong and they’ll do the right thing.

i get the feeling a lot of that job ad was copy and pasted from previous postings. rather than improve or evolve, just doing the status quo and hoping it’s enough. Matt literally had that same job description years ago. that’s likely the same job posting that Kristina Constable answered back when she was first hired.

Which itself is a red flag that will likely scare off a lot of applicants.

But yes, the way this job is positioned, it’s guaranteed to get someone who will treat the job as a springboard to something better and leave after 1-3 years.

Ha, that sounds to me like a game of chicken by design – by both parties. But win or lose, they are both happy. Rinse and repeat.
