They sorely need better representation on this. Hopefully they find someone useful.

That’s good, because the people they’ve had doing this job in the past have been absolute incompetents.

Probably pays $50k and zero direction from anyone important

Yeah, the job description breadth and vagueness do not inspire confidence.

She’s a deputy editor and Senior Content Manager so perhaps this is a role that goes under her jurisdiction?

I would think you have the qualifications

absolutely not.

this is not a tech job. this is a marketing position.

Well they better not simply hire some other bojack or bojill this time!

What would make the most business sense, integrating into the position, is to line up first also US media exposure with a better deal than the outgoing deal with CBS, which lands the CFL on merely a cable channel that fewer have than ever!

Then a ton of the marketing efforts can support the enhanced media presence in the US, Canada, and sometimes worldwide, including especially in the UK.

Otherwise as noted in the following, but not from any social media beyond the old forum, we were thankfully able to salvage some good stuff from the old place from the old Mod House and the old Mod Barn.

i don’t know why but you guys seem to think this is a specialized job. it isn’t. it’s a 100% garbage lacky work where stuff is dropped on your desk every day for you to post on social media. it’s not creative, it isn’t technical, nor is it going to be a decent salary (btw 40-50k / yr is peanuts nowadays). it’s a low end job with very little autonomy, creativity, and no important decision-making, or technical skill.

if you think posting marketing material on facebook and x/twitter is a technical job, you are sadly mistaken.

I guess they won’t ever pay more and make it more of a position for the use of greater skills, along with rewards?

Many companies do this for their “social media strategy” though, including to contract it out all the more these days, including to some anonymous staff as if via generation of trouble tickets, who have no cohesion and well in the social media posts, it shows!

The end result seems to be not much better than what companies do all the more to leverage AI for various AI slop, which is crap but hey, it’s so cheap!

We must behold the unresolved?

Mean Titanium Ted has the Model Board of Governors thread with great promotion.

Can’t you @Tedzan_Lord_of_Lions keep your job and just sign up for this job via the CFL?

The double dip!

We could also eliminate the risk of the CFL hiring some new bojack or bojill or worse yet, farming this operation out to some anonymous crew and AI slop.

Yeah, the word “manager” in the job description is highly misleading. “Social Media Lackey” would be more accurate.

Perhaps one with its own tab on the web page? It took me 15 years to even notice the forum the first time because my security settings prevented me from opening that tab to even see the link lol (java and tracker blocking i think). Not sure that the articles back then had a comment section below it so that didn’t really set off any alarm bells either. Mostly got my news elsewhere. What finally flicked on the light was the forum showing up in a web search lol
