CFL winter meetings agenda published for first time

There you go then, as for anybody clearly like YOU who clearly does not understand when to leave it, and that argument is not always the same as discussion but prefers to press the argument, which are you doing.

Welcome to the shitlist too!

Alright man. Sorry, I clearly struck a nerve somewhere by asking you to further elaborate on your thoughts and engaging with you about your ideas. I can promise you it will be the last time.

As you are clearly still commenting, look in the mirror.

Here you go.

I’m curious what the results of a draft would be or even how that would potentially run. Would the idea be that teams would draft that year’s NFL-draft eligible players to their neg list and then would still need to sign them as usual? A different list altogether of just American draft picks? Would the league sign players centrally and then the draft would distribute them? How would it work for previous draft eligible players, just added like normal?

Some overlap is here, and these only some of the follow-up from the CFL winter meetings.

I like each of these developments.

I do think that before the changes for 2027, one more hard look should be taken by the league after the experience of the 2026 season is reviewed. In any case, I figure that some of the changes will be made no matter what, but the question is which ones if not all of them.

Good! The idea of the Summer Olympics disrupting professional league play in any major sports is utter bullshit.

Absolutely! Are you going to alter your schedule every four years?

I mean the NHL does this, as has MLS for the world cup. But I think there’s not going to be as many CFL players away from their teams as there have been for those leagues.

World Cup and Olympics are NOT the same, plus MLS is shifting to the schedule used by most of Europe all the same.

MLS is also not a top global league, though it is of higher level than all of its history.

And the Winter Olympics are a different matter, for which the NHL has an agreement.

My comment is strictly about the Summer Olympics.

That’s why I used the past tense. They have indeed gone on break for the world cup. Sure they are different events, but the point of them being every 4 years altering the schedule of a domestic league stands. Same for the NHL and the Winter Olympics, agreement or not the point of the domestic league altering their schedule every 4 years still stands which is the comment I was replying to.

Nope, your explanation still does not wash in comparison.

So the extra money that is upcoming? How do you think it should be divided up between cap, pensions, training camp and playoff bonus’s etc?

Cap. Think they should work from the bottom up this time. Nice bump to the minimum.

Pensions. Bit of sunshine for the long termers would be nice.

Traning camp wages. Are just plain sad right now.

Playoff earnings. It is a nice carrot to dangle in front of the players.

What else? Improved family medical? Amenities? Support systems?

Wonder what the players believe is right? Singles and married probably differ. Lifers and temps probably differ as does the rookies.
