It was on this date in 1958 that the Canadian Football League was formally established in Winnipeg upon the merger of the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union (aka the Big Four) and the Western Interprovincial Football Union. Sydney Halter was named the CFL’s first commissioner.

I only have one question - has Proulx retired yet?

Our CFL Refs are appointed to their positions for life or until they go completely mad. Proulx hasn’t stabbed anyone yet so there’s no reason to keep him away from the cutlery.
There will come a day when he’ll try to drop a puck at midfield to start the game but until that happens he’ll on the job frustrating CFL audiences far and wide like no one else can.
