Ottawa- Rene Konga, DT: Laing is getting old and the RedBlacks need to find his replacement.
Toronto- Wesley Bailey, DE: The Argo’s need help everywhere, but the Dline is especially thin. Both Louisville guys going back to back.
Edmonton- Malcom Bell, CB: They already start Ford, go get a quality backup.
Winnipeg- Nuer Gatkuoth, DE: Bombers have no Canadian DEs, it would also be nice for them to get a rotation going, like when they had Kongbo.
Hamilton- Dariel Djabome, LB: Veresuk is trying the NFL, but if he comes back, I think McMannis gets moved to WLB. The Ti-Cats need depth either way with only Baker.
Calgary- Jett Elad, S: Put him at Safety or even SLB. He has versatility.
BC- Rohan Jones, TE: Similar body type to Cotty, could be valuable depth.
Montreal- Nic Senacle, WR: Depth behind Philpot is important. Senacle had a bad 2025, but 2024 was good.
Saskatchewan- Darius Bell, C: The Rider’s grab their future centre.
My mock is mostly based on need, mixed with a bit of best available and NFL opportunity is taken into consideration.
The fits are good, I think my only gripe might be the top 7 picks might all be in NFL training camps as they’re coming off productive seasons in the power 4. Much will depend how they look in their pro days, of course.
Cenacle might slide up to top 3 for that exact reason. As his final season was a bit of a step back from his productive 2024 so a CFL team may be able to give him the Alford treatment.
Undrafted free agents have huge hill to climb. Reese, Taylor and Messidor are for sure NFL draft picks. Elad could also slide in there. Cenacle could make his way into the top 3 of the CFL draft.
We might actually see alot more USports picks. Justin Pace, was supposed to be in the 2025 draft I believe, but deferred to 2026.
Indeed they do, but they still go to NFL camp and can’t come up until September which tends to push them back to the second round especially when there’s so many other good prospects. Look at last year, I believe the first players with NFL UDFA deals were Harris at 11, Elgersma at 18 and Shand at 19.
I think January rankings 11-19 plus Tomlinson will be the guys in play for the first round. Then it’s going to be a frenzy of UDFA picks in the second.
Yah that’s pretty good IMO. The Riders have a couple of drafted OLmen who are on NFL PR and might shake loose this year. They’re starting 3 Nationals at WR so could be looking at some depth there. The Argos have 6 picks in the top 30 and with Hufnagel and Barker looking over the list we should see some interesting additions this year. Sounds like they’re looking at DE as a ratio position now with Shand, Kongbo and Ojo lined up. So maybe Bailey or how about Gatkuoth out of Wake Forest instead. We’re still waiting for Luiji Vilain to finally come up to Toronto after 3 years bouncing around the NFL.
I think you will go Saad at DT and when he comes off the field an American comes and Korte-Moore goes to DE. I could see you guys drafting another DT, though.
