NFL Playoffs 2025 Season in 2026

It’s wild - 3/4ths of the AFC North is without a head coach.

I wonder how well the Bengals’ coach is sleeping these days.

Could have drafted Jaxon Dart but didn’t cause they didn’t want to scare Rodgers away…

I know it would probably not be doable for many reasons but I wish they could put the start of playoff to sometime in March so that those who are banged up and those with minor injuries can recover and the teams could field more starters and stars. If I only had a genie

Aaah, another glorious morning!

It’s freezing cold out, it’s dark most of the time, but Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are out of the playoffs.

[sigh]

There’s a lot to like with good young players in New York.

The Rams do indeed have recent experience playing in such a game in cold and wet weather, though they did not farewell against the Carolina Panthers in their first meeting during the season. I in fact picked that upset correctly and made that pick due to the weather conditions as well.

Last year, the Rams lost 28-22 in the divisional round on a snowy evening in Philadelphia, and they may have to navigate similar cold and slick conditions on Sunday in Chicago. In that game, Matthew Stafford fumbled twice, losing one, and Kyren Williams also turned it over once with a fumble, with those two turnovers proving pivotal in a tight loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the eventual Super Bowl champions.

Ball security will be paramount once again in frigid temperatures and potentially snowy conditions, and Stafford and the Rams will have to make some improvements on last year in that area if they are going to get the win.

The high winds should screw up field goal accuracy past perhaps about 42 yards. When a wind is blowing like that, unless it’s a tailwind, the kicker simply has to drive the ball hard and lower to cut through that wind, so the long snapper and holder have to be absolutely on point.

Over a certain distance unless it’s a tailwind, well it’s a tricky game of reading the high seas before kicking that ball so that it can sail with the wind carrying it between the uprights, preferably right to left with a right-footed kicker, with always the variable of the unknown timing of a break in gusts.

High winds will also screw up many longer pass plays, so the passing game will be an elevated competition between the offenses of top yards after contact (YAC).

High winds also make for some tricky fun for the punter, for one can sometimes elevate enough to get a lot more hang time on a kick, and also one can at times get some tricky direction with help from a gust to make the punt harder to return.

Or just punt that ball somewhere inside the 15 sailing it out of bounds as far as the wind can blow it - no return risk there and even outkicking your coverage is just fine. That’s not a shank or a “short kick,” which some dumbass announcers will state.

I read somewhere that Darnold is nursing an oblique injury but expects to play, hmmm, we’ll see how Sam does, could be trouble.

Wow. Nix finished the game off on a sprained ankle. Talk about taking one for the team!

This means to me that today’s game in New England is effectively the AFC Championship.

Maybe Elway will suit up

Bills fire McDermott, doesn’t surprise me as he’s been there for enough failure.

I’m still not convinced that he’s not actually Ron Howard.

He will not be unemployed long.

Who’s the dumbass that decided to pass on their own 20 yard line with 16 seconds left in the half and gave up 3 unnecessary points in a game in which they lost by 3 points?

Likely not but the head coaching jobs are filling up.
