We can also have a very visible disclaimer on the home page. “This is an unofficial fan site and not affiliated with the CFL in any way.”
I guess 13th Man is out of the question. ![]()
i mean, if the CFL isn’t going to send black suit guys with briefcases after me, maybe I’ll leave it ![]()
yea logo for sure we will have to change.
CFL won’t pay for black suits, they’ll be in jeans and hoodies
edit: nevermind, changed to Canadian Football Fan Forum - see post below
already changed the copy text on the front page banner for non-logged in users
You mean Winnipeg? ![]()
If we just get rid of the L and call it the Canadian Football Forum, I think it fits the theme of “the same thing but not official anymore”.
As far as a logo, I don’t have an image anymore, but the top half of a maple leaf above the crossbar of uprights is both Canadian and football (and looks better than the CFL logo).
You might want to change the spelling of “beyond”.
fixed! thanks.
I agree with all of this. We can be CFL Fan Forum. State somewhere that we have no affiliation with the CFL.
Well we don’t call a ‘Canadian’ on any CFL team a ‘Canadian’. We call a ‘Canadian’ a ‘National’.
So by that reasoning we might as well call this thing ‘The NFL Discussion Forum’.
Mental note: don’t ever put Maaax in charge of anything.
I’ll second that.
Maybe we can just call it…….’The Other League’ or perhaps ‘The 51st State football forum’ .
this post is a bannable offence. FLAG FLAG FLAG LOL
Okay so how about we just switch it up a bit and just call it ‘NOT the 51st State football forum’?

“Grid Iron Football Rebels” because we said
to “the man”
In all seriousness, the term gridiron is too broad to be part of the site name IMO. It encompasses CFL, NFL, Aussie rules football, etc.
North of the 49th Football Rant
I would agree. The site is thankfully now very diverse since the Lounge came into being, but it is still an essentially CFL fan site and I think Gridiron is too generic. I think having the word “CFL” in the title will attract more members and offers better continuity and is more recognizable and associated more easily with the previous site for those who may be looking for a new site that have been booted out of the old one.
