Where were we when the nasties pulled the plug. Will the new management assistants get on the ball and sign top priorities like other teams are doing. We hope so. Brissett, Darkangelo, Polk would be a good start. However, I can see Ottawa making a play for Polk.

Shivers is now gone.

I’m not surprised by him being gone. I was surprised he was interviewed for the HC role.

So they’ve moved on from Shivers. He was under contract for 2026 so I presume they had to buy him out or he asked to be released from the contract as he had an offer elsewhere. I don’t know about that co-coordinator stuff anyway and can’t see Eiben getting the DC job. Maybe stays as LB Coach. They need an experienced DC guy like Chris Jones, but I can’t see him working under a first time HC like Mike Miller.

Thanks for making the thread! Glad you made it over. Wild times on the CFL forums!

Looks like our rookie of the year has some workouts down south

Greg Quick in as the new Argo DC. I didn’t see that coming but he’s been around for a while and knows the League.

I didn’t see this coming either. Doesn’t have a great record as a head coach, so hopefully he’s done better as a position coach lol

With how MLSE handles things, it seems like he will have some role in the scouting department as well.

Can’t say I would be upset if Sankey signed here. Averaged 7.5 tackles in his last 9 games.

IMO Sanky is one tough cookie and could still be a force. i can see Winnipeg trying to sign him but I don’t think he will remain a FA for long.

Winnterpeg resigns Olivera. Argos better hurry up and sigh Dietrich Mills.

3 years for like 300K a year?? They can keep him. I don’t think he’s worth that much.

It’s not so much that they ar epaying him that much as how much money they have tied up between hin amd Zach. Their front office is going to be looking for value.

Well that ship has sailed.

Oh well , they are going to have to start looking under rocks and in the bushes to find a good running back

Another RB off the market

Running Backs under contract for the Argos in 2026;

Spencer Brown (74 Carries / 314 Rush Yards / 4.2 Avg. / 1 RTD / 42 Rec / 290 Yards / 1 TD)
Deonta McMahon (42 Carries / 156 Rush Yards / 3.7 Avg / 1 RTD / 18 Rec / 130 Yards)
Miyan Williams (21 Carries / 102 Rush Yards / 4.9 Avg / 16 Rec / 90 Yards)

Other Running Backs set to hit FA (As of 12/18/25);

MTL - Sean Thomas-Erlington (88 Carries / 386 Rush Yards / 4.4 Avg. / 2 RTD / 9 Rec / 68 Yards / 1 TD)
OTT - William Stanback (147 Carries / 698 Rush Yards / 4.8 Avg. / 4 RTD / 36 Rec / 278 Yards / 1 TD)
HAM - Greg Bell (184 Carries / 1038 Rush Yards / 5.6 Avg. / 5 RTD / 62 Rec / 426 Yards / 1 RD)
SSK - Ka’Deem Carey 2024 Stats (191 Carries / 1060 Rush Yards / 5.5 Avg. / 7 RTD / 37 Rec / 356 Yards / 1 TD)
SSK - AJ Ouellette (248 Carries / 1222 Rush Yards / 5.0 Avg. / 8 RTD / 35 Rec / 250 Yards / 1 TD)
BC - James Butler (229 Carries / 1213 Rush Yards / 5.3 Avg. / 11 RTD / 46 Rec / 439 Yards / 1 TD)

Realistically, I don’t think many of these guys will actually hit FA. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing what Sean Thomas-Earlinton can do for us in the double blue, if the price is right. Scott might drive him out of MTL. I wonder if Carey would be open to coming back with the coaching/front office changes. Should have never let him walk to begin with!

Could this be a contingency plan if we can’t re-sign Brissett or Ungerer?

Looks like a depth signing for training camp. Looked up some combine numbers on Tristan Ready. 15 reps on the bench (not bad for a receiver), 4.94 in the forty (not good), 31.5 in the vertical (not bad, but he should be able to run a quicker forty with that number). With waggle helping and he can run good routes and some good coaching maybe he can develop into a possession receiver. He had good numbers this last season at Carleton.

Dejon Brissett is must re-signing IMO. With Kelly back and healthy I can see Brissett putting up some real good numbers in 2026. Ungerer is a good wide out who can get open along the sidelines when a first down is needed. I expect them both back.

2024 draft pick WR Jared Wayne 6’2 210 out of Pittsburg keeps hanging around off and on the practice roster down there in Houston. He only ran a 4.8 on his pro day. Again the waggle could help him if and when he ever comes up to the Argos. But CFL rookie contracts can’t compare to NFL PR’s.

A couple of resigning and one new before the holidays

I read that the first Argo game at BMO won’t be until August. That could attendance, out of sight out of mind. It could create a disconnect with the public
