Going to put this question here in case others have the same issue with X, formerly Twitter:
yea i can’t help that - it’s the twitter rendering engine not keeping up with the oneboxes. the old forum was hosted on infrastructure that had paid twitter onebox access as part of the package (one of the reasons it’s much more expensive than self-hosting, which i am doing now). when X bought twitter, they made it much more expensive to use their API to render oneboxes. on this forum, i have a twitter component that renders the onebox without a paid account. hence why they look a bit different than old ones. the only real fix for this is to turn off x/twitter oneboxing. the shifting should only happen when the topic/thread loads and not continuously while viewing it (well not unless you are on a very slow internet connection).
edit: see here
if the shift gets too bad, let me know and i will simply turn off the x/twitter oneboxing. it isn’t super necessary, but it will make people click the link and go view it, rather than viewing the actual tweet in the post.
