I thought I’d start a thread for general discussion about the upcoming season and current activity (free agency).

Edmonton has made some nice acquisitions with Carney, Robustelli, Powell and Woodmansey.

Bombers with a few good ones too in Broxton and what might be a sneaky pick up in Ceresna and what I think is big upside on Nield.

Ottawa spending like drunken sailors and look like they’re wanting to rename their team the Roughriders.

I like Ford to Hamilton that could prove to be a good move for him to learn behind Bo.

Doesn’t seem like there will be much to announce come February 10!

I like Ford going to the Hammer despite being an Argo fan. Winnipeg was the only other place that made sense IMO.

But yes with ‘tampering’ allowed, free agency is anti-climatic

I agree about Ford. Though I was intrigued to see him in Sask. I hope my riders have a lotore faith in Jack Coan than I do.

I used to look forward to free agency now I have to remind myself to look forward to the tampering window lol

Ha ha ha, it would not be an off-season and slow-time here without a mention of that Jack Coan!

There is no explanation as to why he’s supposedly sudden magic for some of those fans, including back when he was in the XFL 3.5 in 2023, though definitely not when he was at Notre Dame!

Always found it weird when the official CFL site posts rumors reported from other writers.

Oddly unprofessional.

Very CFL. The insiders are more aligned with the players etc than the actual CFL employees are.

Ford as other suitors not surprisingly

I think he made the right call, will likely get an opportunity to start sooner, though BC would have been interesting with a Canadian one-two punch

Free agency updates from 3DN

As many as have been played already for years via the Touchdown Series all the same with the current field, with the notable exception of when games are moved due to special events like the World Cup and due to weather or environmental situations

12:45 p.m. EST — Clearly, it is the goalpost at the front of the end zone that is blocking all these deals from being announced. There will be 60 more signings once they are moved.

12:55 p.m. EST — See, this is why I prefer the CFL Draft.

12:58 p.m. EST — This LIVE blog would probably be more entertaining if it were entirely in Spanish and sung while surrounded by humanoid grass, but alas, this is all we can provide. Maybe next year.
