:als_red: Alouettes 2026 Talk

Agreed. I had the same thought. Like, why are you taking your (at the time) highest-paid receiver and playing him at field slot? You should be looking to get him in iso matchups on the boundary. It sure seemed like a mismatch between the team signing him to a four-year deal at good money and how the coaches viewed him.

Again, agreed. They might be able to recreate their 2023 magic together. Certainly they see the field well and are on the same page with routes, extensions, and so on.

Could be this year’s Wynn!

Good to see Theis brought back. Seems to be able to do it all. Hope to see an increased role on special teams if he’s not the primary/secondary returner.

C’est un joueur intéressant.

Est-ce que les Alouettes accepteraient de modifier leur utilisation de joueurs canadiens comme ailier défensif?

I’m sure they would love for hime to grow into a starter, but I see him as a ST captain in his first season. Especially if Captain Canada and Cibasu are not kept.

I would not call it a mistake. Unfortunatly he’s another player in many hundreds who left for NFL and never got their game back. I suspect, they offered to adjust his contract and he chose not to, can’t fault a family man for that. He won’t have a problem getting a contract.

We are seeing a quiet rebuild of the roster. This is good. Guys like Cibasu, STE, Mack, Desquoy who underachieved or simply have nothing left in the tank are not being renewed and some let go. There were too many passengers on the team last season.

The question for Mack is whether he can do better than what DM offered … and if not, will he double back to the Als.

Wynn was a veteran though

Parish is still young at 27 and he’s entering his prime. Could be an home run like Berglund was

True. But I have a feeling he will not lack for suitors.

Mack wasn’t a passenger. He was an afterthought in the offence for most of the season. It seems fairly clear that the coaches decided to give more important roles to Snead, Philpot, and Rambo, leaving Mack as a decoy at field slot. Even then, he posted strong games when Davis was healthy.

Bad mismatch between contract/cap hit and coach assessment IMO. There is no reason they should have asked him to take a paycut or forego a bonus when he had nothing to do with how he was being underused.

It the 1st year since a longtime that I’m not looking at the Oline top FA.

I wouldn’t be against adding depth at the tackle position but that’s it

We could use another National o-lineman for depth/injury insurance. Don’t want to have to keep relying on Landon Rice.

Landon Rice a été une solution d’urgence, à cause de la blessure à J. Gibbon.

Il essentiel qu’il y est de la compétition au camp d’entraînement pour de la relève sur l’équipe de pratique au niveau N via le repêchage CFL.

Agree Sheldon. Though Canadian receiver depth is highest on my list of needs for the team, luckily there maybe some good names available, unless they all go off the board in the next week.

There’s Nield, I like O’Leary-Orange, and then there’s bigger names like Gittens Jr. and Brissett. And now Wolitarsky.

The good thing is that DM in his recent comments mentioned depth as a priority.

I think BOLO would be a good pick up. Big body and deceptive speed.
