Just a feeling but I think there will be at least one more change somewhere, though I don’t know where or who.
Should have thought that the Als would have either signed Dequoy by now or released him to sign elsewhere. Odd.
He’s had their offer since Dec. 12. So clearly he is still mulling it over or else he’d have already asked for his release.
That is a long time to mull. I suspect at this point he’s waiting for the tampering window to see if there’s a market elsewhere for him and what that is. I mean theee is less than 12 hours now.
I think both Ford and Brissett would be great signings for the Als and for those two players.
Sure, but that’s his decision, not the team’s. I think Danny has made the offer and is genuine about the fact that there is still a place for Dequoy here, but not at his previous price tag. And since he hasn’t asked to be released, we’re playing it out.
The five-foot-eight, 183-pound pass catcher has been a consistent role player over three CFL seasons, but has yet to truly breakout. A deal with Winnipeg last offseason was supposed to get him over the hump, but he again settled for a respectable 48 receptions for 530 yards and four touchdowns. The 26-year-old can be a complementary piece, and may have room still to blossom.
That is not what I would qualify as as a big signing. More of a meh for me.
I wonder with Powell going to Edm whether that means Ford lands in Hamilton? Doesn’t seem like SM’s kind of QB, but he is from that part of the country.

The @REDBLACKS have agreed to terms with returner James Letcher Jr. Formerly of @MTLAlouettes. #CFLFA
So we traded Dedmond for Letcher
Not a fan of this. We got older and more brittle at KR for what reason? I’d have given Letcher a chance to reestablish value.
Sterns could be useful, but he’s Snead size (and without Snead’s talent). Not sure he has a future beyond WR4.
I suspect they will pass on Ford and go with Dolegala and Frost. Milanovich likes his pocket-passers.
Agree Jocko.
It’s not that I don’t like Dedmon. When healthy, he is an effective returner. But he’s had massive problems staying healthy, and he’s on the wrong side of 30. Was Letcher asking the moon? I can’t imagine so. I still think something went wrong for Letcher this year beyond the injuries. Maybe he didn’t see eye to eye with Archambault. Otherwise, I am at a loss to explain why we would get older and frailer at a position that carries a higher-than-average risk of injury.
