:als_red: Alouettes 2026 Talk

Over his time in Montreal, Danny has generally shown himself to be a smart GM with a good eye for team-building and roster management. For that, kudos to him and to his football ops staff. But I think he is making a mistake at receiver this year and we are going to pay for it until he realizes he messed up and fixes his mistake.

Ed Hervey’s line, when cutting receivers, was that there are no superstars in the CFL, and tacitly, that good American receivers are easy to find. Well, a year later, he had to eat crow and sign Austin Mack for apparently more than we were willing to pay.

If Danny thinks he can field a competitive receiving corps with what we currently have on the roster, he is delusional.

TVA Sports’ article about Dequoy re-signing has been deleted.

Presently, my main concern are at receivers, particularly National receivers, and defensive line, given that we don’t know if Johnson will be 100% health wise.

Wow. I guess we’ll have to see how it shakes out.

To me, Lawrence looked old, slow, and uninspired for much of last season. He also consistently graded out at or near the bottom of the weekly PFF centre rankings. I would make it an open competition between him and Hogan-Saindon this year for starting centre but the team seems to think Lawrence is bulletproof.

Merci du partage, quelle situation non professionnelle, un journaliste chez TVA Sports a voulu avoir un scoop, sa source était définitivement pas sûre à 100%..

Dequoy announce he is retiring

Maciocia had been saying he wanted an answer from Dequoy so that if he moved on he would be able to use the money elsewhere.

So if in fact Dequoy is signing elsewhere, who is left to spend the money on?

He originally agreed to re-sign but changed his mind.

Will he surface as an injury replacement for a team mid- season?

This is the right call. The fact that he took so long to make a decision, and then even changed his decision (from re-signing to maybe signing elsewhere to retiring), means it’s time for him to move on. You can’t play at a high level if you’re second-guessing yourself or looking ahead to post-football life.

Thanks for everything, Marc-Antoine! Your pick-six against Chad Kelly in the 2023 EDF was a thing of pure beauty and a key part of how we upset Toronto on the way to winning the Grey Cup.

Thank you MAD and best of luck in your next chapter.

Marc-Antoine Dequoy had two offers on the table, including one from the Alouettes, to continue his playing career in the CFL.

However, the two-time three-down league all-star and 110th Grey Cup champion felt his body was no longer ready for the sacrifice required to play professional football.

Aside from some of the exciting plays he made on the field, I am certain he is responsible for attracting people in the city and province to become fans of the Alouettes and CFL.

Bonne retraite Marc-Antoine Dequoy.

I wonder if in a few years, Dequoy would consider returning to the team as a coach? He’s always struck me as a cerebral, well-spoken player who saw the field well. I think he could be a promising position coach, and maybe a few years after that, coordinator.
