CFL Discussion Non-Ticat

Agreed. I have no idea what Abbott was smoking when he posted that. I do know that DA is a fan of Manziel’s – he’s said that a couple times. But wow, Abbott had to go deep into the weeds to dredge up that comparison.

Plus when the CFL season finally starts, you can bet that TSN will be stroking Alexander non-stop.

So I don’t want to be hearing about this guy until I absolutely have to. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The old knee pads were on heavy for the surfer boy last year on TSN . You could at times really hear the slurping and drooling coming from the booth when they were talking about Alexander . :kissing_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Wow Nield getting paid more than Kiondre. I can only imagine how much KGJ thinks he’s getting, which makes sense as to why he’s not signed yet.

Makes sense as to why KGJ or rhymes are not signs yet

Yeah I think he was paid $210K last year and I can understand him not wanting to be paid less while everyone else is getting raises, but his last season above 50 yards/game was 2022 so you also understand teams not wanting to pay him over $200K anymore.

AJ Allen’s contract with Ottawa as per 3down nation

Per sources, Allen received a $60,000 signing bonus to ink the deal, it’s worth $240,000 in hard money for 2026 and $250,000 in 2027. That totals $490,000 in hard money over the two-year term along with an additional $12,000 available in incentives. He becomes the highest-paid linebacker in the three-down league’s salary cap era. His contract was negotiated by Montreal-based agent Fred Weinrauch.

Woodmansey contract with Edmonton

Per sources, Woodmansey received a $100,000 signing bonus to ink the deal, it’s worth $300,000 in hard money for 2026, 2027 and 2028. That totals $900,000 in hard money over the three-year term along with an additional $20,000 available in incentives. He becomes the highest-paid offensive lineman in the three-down league’s salary cap era and likely in history. His contract was negotiated by longtime agent Fred Weinrauch.

Malik carney deal

He becomes the highest-paid American defensive player in the CFL’s salary cap era. His contract was negotiated by veteran agent Rob Fry.

I feel like we’re living in some sort of bizarre alternate universe when Carney and Woodmansey are the top paid players at their positions.

Next offseason half of these guys will be asked to re-negotiate their contracts or get cut. Tommy Nield at $176k? Coulter W at $300k?

They know that, though. They’ll get paid for a year and then look for something else.

That or teams will release due to bonus @Schweinhund

Malik Carney was PFF‘s second ranked DE last season and Woodmansey was PFF’s top ranked Centre last year. I’m not sure how much the actual snapping affects the grades but tbh each snap that results in the QB needing to just fall in it is as bad as a sack and should be graded as such, not sure if it is.

Maybe. The cap could keep increasing and guys could make more even more next off-season.

When the biggest stench in Edmonton is you Hervey!
