Ford is a Waste of money

Edmonton now have;

Bordner, Murray, Woodmansey and already had Beard .

Sound familiar?

Yes it does

ppl said the same thing about Bo before he came to Hamilton and look at what’s he’s done

Yes.

In all seriousness, he’s played on three different teams in the past three years, and he’s got a lot of miles on him. I don’t think he’s more than injury insurance at this point.

I would hardly call us set with the signing of Lofton . The guy has made a career out of sitting in the tub in rehab or on the PR . He has all the markings of being another CVZ or Figs .

He has only played 2 full seasons total in an 7 year career . In fact he dressed and played a grand total of only 7 games out of a possible 72 games combined in his first four years in the league . Last year he dressed and played in a single game . Believe me if this is the teams solution at tackle on the O-Line then its an extremely underwhelming one at best .

People allude to the Ticats having to have a different offense for Ford to run.

This is also a second offense for the opposition to have to prepare for. Ford is the ultimate change of pace guy. I am excited to see how he gets worked in.

I agree I hope they find someone to play LT instead of Lofton

Don’t understand why they didn’t try to resign Bordner

An Elks fan on X stated that with Murray and Bordner, Ivey now becomes expendable and he plays LT. If they let him walk, Ticats better grab him

And hes only 30 too

I’ll make one adjustment to my own post.

The fact that we lost Bordner and Murray, I’ll assume we offered one of them ( probably Bordner) a contract, but did not come close to Edmonton’s 2 year 385k number.

Well as it stands right now we have openings at running back , three receiver positions , left tackle , defensive tackle , middle linebacker , defensive back , punter and at kick returner .

We have our work cut out for us in the recruitment department with this many vacancies so far to fill before the season gets underway .

Heck of a comparison you made there.

Very busy day on here. Can someone let me know if I got the TL:DR right:

Ticats didn’t retain any of our guys but we’re ok with most of them because the team has contingency plans or wanted them gone anyway.

We also didn’t bring anyone in that we think will be a starter; Lofton seems too injury-prone to be seen as more than veteran depth, and Ford is a project.

We also missed out on some significant targets, namely Allen.

Did I miss anything?

Re. the Defence….

What planet are you on if you assume running it back with much the same incompetent personnel that gave up over 27 points per game would be seemingly OK?? We did not produce enough pressure from the Front 4 to worry any QB in the League. The LB’s were either slow to react or out of position. The Secondary had to play a soft zone most of the year because they weren’t competent in playing man to man.

Utter nonsense…

Just add another 3-4 Canadian starters from the draft and we’re good.
