The Tre Ford deal is 100% a done deal because he was released by Edmonton and therefore able to sign now. This is why we’ve seen the Ticats announce the signing.

You’re right about the vast majority though.

I think this whole McManis is holding everything up. You havnt sign any other free agents by the ticats until McManis is signed because im sue they are giving him bags it wouldnt surprise me if he was offered like 240-245k per year… considering he made 229,500 and his max was 231,500. Can def see a 240-245k per year for 2 years seeing that hes 31 years old play until your 33 have 2026 and 2027 signed like most of the roster.

whats funny is everyone thought that EDM won with all of the signings last year and look where it got them.. Winning or Losing Free agent day only means roster on Paper. I dont mean this to you @GiasoneItaliano I’m just using your post because you had mentioned how ppl thought that EDM won last year. look where they finished in the standings.

I can tell CFL fans if Ticat fans think that this roster now is what the roster is in the spring come kick off I can tell all Ticat fans who think this you are bloody sadly mistaken. FA hasnt even come yet. This tampering window means jack, any player can or team can decline their offer. We have already see 2 teams pull out yet. These are whats called hand shake deals. Pen to paper is February 10th when the real fun begins. When stuff becomes official. Then we have the draft who knows what could happen in the draft we could get a prospect who has a huge impact this upcoming season no one can predict the future. Everyone needs to breath and relax during the tampering window. Signings will happen when they happen. I do not see us having 3 rookie WR, 2 rookie LB and 2 rookie DBs. what happens if we bring in a VET and say he starts in DBs and we have 1 rookie dp. That 1 vet dp gets injured we still have 2 rookie teams in the end. Does not matter if its now or down the road. People all over social media need to relax and take a chill pill.

People tweet at management saying to wake the F up and shit not cool. Show some class if your one of these people. Then there’s people who are bitching because people didn’t get resigned. Players don’t come back for a number of reasons. 1) could be $, 2) could be a better opportunity somewhere else, no one knows why players leave to sign else where. Things happen for a reason players always come and go. But remember some of the players we lost onc were rookies 2-3 years ago when no one knew who they were. They will go on and might have bad seasons next season or have good season. We cant predict the future. Just remember 1 thing, when a door closes for another player it opens up another door and another opportunity for someone else. Us as Ticat Nation know better we don’t act like this and Please have some respect for the management. We do not know what is happening behind closed doors. Things will happen when they happen don’t worry.

Hey if I can see that they have signed back both of Bridges and B-O-O and also lets say McManis then I’ll be fine with that to be perfectly honest .

So just wondering Bobo82… so your ok with Augustine / Rookie as RB, Hill/Fisher as WLB - McManis - Stubbs as LB group and then Peters - Talbert - Kats - Rookie - Rookie as Secondary.. Just making sure i understood what you ment.

I am talking specifically about the talk of signings are coming soon that Ticatfan25 posted .

Running back will take care of itself . It usually does , I mean seriously who in the Hell ever heard of Bell before he won the job here a few years back ? The secondary has pipeline in house players from last year such as White and Walton who will be given the opportunity to move up the ladder . Finally yes , if we do indeed acquire McManis he will automatically fuse and elevate the LB crew to play at another level with his leadership skills . Signing Bridges and B-O-O will help fill out the receiving corps and give Bo some much needed familiarity with his receivers . Any other questions ?

Not being complacent is the front office’s biggest goal. They were happy with how last year went, other than the East Final, and both players and front office wanted everyone to be back. That being said, they want to be better than last year and doing that means letting some people go. There’s also the question of salary cap which is obviously why you can’t just bring everyone back. As said earlier, they are working hard on a multitude of signings, working so hard that many of them have to stay the night near the office.

I have think the FO prepared themselves well last year to be in a position this year to be able to let the guys go that they did and not have to over pay to keep them. Walton and White are two good examples but I think people should be ready to see Swartout as the next breakout American tackle. I think the team has high hopes for Meed and Hall stepping up to provide good depth/rotation as well. That’s in addition to whatever rookies they unearth May 6th. If we get McManis, BOO and Bridges I think we’ll be fine.

Im surprised we let Bell walk, We put in the time to develop him and then let him go. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

He was the worst pass blocking RB in the CFL last year according to PFF (minimum 50 carries). That’s why they let him go.

Of all the positions, I’m least worried about RB right now. 32 year old Augustine will be a back up. I am more than comfortable that they will find a young American that can (1) pass block better than Bell, (2) carry the rock, (3) catch the ball out of the back field. There’s a lot of those guys out there and the change from US ball to Canadian ball isn’t as big as several other positions.

Agreed
It is imperitive to block for our aging League MOP QB

I will let you in on a secret.

Development plan for a RB.

Introduce him to the QB, hand him the ball, watch him run,

Fair point, but many coaches, including Milanovich, look at the running back as a blocker first and a runner second, so getting familiar with the team’s system, as well as how to protect the QB in three-down football, is not trivial.

Fair assessment

Thanks coach

This is very true and really does bring to light why they didn’t keep him. If 2 years into this system he was one of the worst in a high priority of pass pro then it makes sense that they didn’t make him a priority.
