Free Agency 2026

Can’t have a good defense without a very good MLB.

We are now set in the middle.

Expecting McManis to set the tone for the group. He will bring energy, leadership, 3 Grey Cup rings and a toothpick to Steeltown!!!

Now hopefully they can get Gittens

Imagine him a couple years ago next to Simoni?

That would’ve been insane to watch those two on the same field wearing the same colours .

The rest of the players would need earplugs

McManis is a huge get for Hamilton! Reggie Stubblefield must be grinning from ear to ear.

only 1 year SMH

Yes 2 (or 3) years would have been better for some stability and consistency on defence but perhaps will have to go year-to-year per any contract in the future.

He will be 32 years old in September. I am fine year to year.

Seriously, look at the intensity in this man’s face. He will look so much better in Black & Gold.

Somehow
I’m feeling a whole lot better about our Defense
and that is where we needed the most improvement

appearently when he was in Toronto he only signed 1 year deals too

Gives both sides some flexibility. Team will have to make decisions on guys like Braxton Hill, Fisher, Meed in 2027. If one of them really step up they may want to extend them instead. If McManis is injured for long stretches or things don’t go well then they just part ways cleanly without forgoing a roster bonus etc.

The Secondary will need a bit of a reconstruction though since we lost Amos and Moxey.

The restructure of the Lawler contract
and the Signing of McManis the next day
equals team players!

No reason for players to sign more than one-year deals given how quickly teams will cut them in year 2 and beyond.
