American RB is the easiest position to fill in the CFL. Unless you’re highly exceptional, Bell isn’t, you’ve spent too much.
WR Mario Alford! Is he just like Brandon Banks?
Could be? It’s been pretty quiet on the Bridge’s front. ![]()
No, he is not.
Yeah I’m not sure it necessarily means the end but it significantly reduces the pressure to bring him back.
Alford might have lost a step but he was still really productive last year. Especially returning Kickoffs where he had an impressive 28.3 yard average.
I agree, good signing here. Looking at the highlight package video, it looks like his speed can get him clear separation, and he is a legitimate deep threat. Should be a nice compliment to Lawler.
This receiving corps is starting to look really formidable.
Wow almost 2 full yards ahead of second place Wooden. Punt returns were a bit lacking. I’m at least interested to have him in camp
he’s good but not that good
The Mills linked article says Mills is making 175k hard money with a chance to make 196k.
So that means, essentially, Ottawa offered Bell close to , or over, 200k.
No way we’re paying that.
I feel better about losing Bell now.
Our signings today we’re very solid, but I’m guessing we’re going younger and in-house for the vacant field side DB positions?
IMHO
IT"S BEEN A GOOD DAY!

You have to think that’s why they kept Walton and White around all year last year to groom them to take over. Or at least have the inside track to compete for the spots in camp with all the other guys they brought in. Maybe one of Stone, Junior, Hayes, Ford-Dement, Bohler, or Bergeron steps up, but if I had to guess I’d say Walton at CB and White at HB.
Key New Additions (Feb 10, 2026):
- Mario Alford (WR/Returner): The former Roughriders standout and veteran kick returner brings7 seasons of experience.
- Trevor Reid (OL): American offensive tackle signed to a two-year deal after playing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024.
- Kene Onyeka (DL): National defensive lineman signed after seven seasons with the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
- Eric Lofton (OL): American offensive lineman signed after spending time with several CFL teams, including the Bombers in 2024.
- Fraser Masin (P): Global punter signed to a two-year deal.
- Tyson Middlemost (WR): National receiver added to the roster.
- Keric Wheatfall (WR): American receiver signed from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers organization.
Other Recent Signings & News:
- Tre Ford (QB): Signed to a two-year contract in early February 2026 to bolster the quarterback position.
- Wynton McManis (LB): Two-time All-CFL linebacker signed to a multi-year deal.
- Quinn Carroll (OL): Added as an offensive tackle.
- Re-signings: The team re-signed American OL Quinton Barrow, National WR Keaton Bruggeling, and American DB Destin Talbert.
I would say all the signings going back to Bo Levi in December and leading up to today shows the team is committed. Letting those others walk wasn’t such a bad thing considering none of them got us to the Grey Cup.
Are the Hamilton Tiger cats going to sign another running back?
6:30 p.m. EST — It appears that both Ottawa and Edmonton will be concluding their free agent announcements on Wednesday and beyond. Nine players who had previously agreed to terms have yet to be formally unveiled: QB Jake Maier (Ottawa), QB Taylor Powell (Edmonton), REC Brendan O’Leary-Orange (Edmonton), OL Coulter Woodmansey (Edmonton), OL Jordan Murray (Edmonton), OL Brendan Bordner (Edmonton), DL Malik Carney (Edmonton), LB A.J. Allen (Ottawa), and LB Michael Brodrique (Ottawa).
I’ll bet they do. But I’d be surprised if it was anyone with CFL experience.
They have Larry Rountree, Avery Morrow, and Shane Watts as American RBs and Augustine set as the Canadian RB.
Keep an eye out for neg listers James Robinson (another former NFLer), Marcus Yarns (signed to expanded PR last season, currently with the UFL, if he gets cut he could be back), Jalen White, and Julius Davis.
Sadly I’m a thinking so . They still though could sign him as a third American receiver along with Lawler and Wheatfall and go with 2 starting Canadians .
One year deal for McManis as per his usual as far as I know.
Did we bring in just one new starter on defence during free agency?
Or did we nab a DLineman?
