Of all the guys that have 1000 yd seasons the past 4 years, White is by far the best and there’s zero argument.
The idea that Bridges would just step in and had done that is about as absurd as suggesting White take an 80k pay cut.

Obviously 1000 yards for a receiver is the benchmark. However, I think what’s more important is to have several great receivers that are clutch, and make the plays when they need to.
Last year Bo did a great job at spreading the ball around. Everybody was contributing, and a few of the big plays were even made by guys like O’Leary-Orange and Robinson.
I agree that whoever is designated as White’s replacement has some big shoes to fill. However, I’m pretty sure the Cats will have a really good receiving corps in 2026.
IMHO
TiCats receivers have 2 key advantages
1/ Bo gets them the ball, enough said!
2/ Defences must have double coverage on Lawler which leaves single coverage on the rest
Good points. There are 1000 yard receivers and there are clutch receivers. Morreale and Cahoon come to mind in the latter category. White’s stats are excellent, but we didn’t win a Grey Cup with him. The Cats need a balance of players who are deep targets and players with good hands in traffic in order to win
So time to move on from Revenberg too?
It is extremely rare for receivers to play a full schedule 4 years in a row. Never mind bringing in 1000 yards
The best ability is often availability a wise man once said.
Move on from Bo, too, since you haven’t won a Grey Cup with him. ![]()
In seriousness, adding the key pieces for a Cup run is art, not science. But to my mind, you have to assess what you think is missing from your team at key positions, without assuming that the existing core isn’t good enough because they haven’t won yet. Everyone has to start somewhere. Trevor Harris is like 105 and hadn’t won a Grey Cup until last November…
Why ? I’m pretty sure that Revenberg hasn’t dropped a pass in years .
Or given up an unnecessary and disastrous rouge.
But we haven’t won a GC with him. Time to move on.
Got news for everybody we haven’t won a single Cup with any Ti-Cats that have suited up for us in the past 26 years . Not one !!! Think about that ? That amounts to approx anywhere from 1,500 to 1,700 players in that time .
But that’s my point. Every player on a team that doesn’t win the cup doesn’t need to be discarded.
White is an asset we don’t need. No question about that. But his contribution to the last 4 years shouldn’t be minimized that’s all I’m saying. He played hard for this team and city.

STOP LOOKING BACK!
I’m looking forward to the 2026 season

There’s so many moving parts to this Tim White situation.
People forget that he took a while to sign with the team 2 years ago. Him and his agent were potentially holding out for 300k.
My guess is the Cat’s management were straight up with Tim’s agent telling him “We are only willing to pay your client $175k” (or whatever).
The Cats are in a position of strength at receiver and possibly might be looking to tweak their ratio at the position now that Veresuk has left.
Tim is a very good player and his accomplishments in both stats and versatility are nothing to sneeze at. He was not released because he’s a bad player, he’s essentially been released because we’re not paying a #2 American receiver 250k regardless of who he is.
Exactly correct . The team was here before White and the team will be here after White . Players come and players go , it’s the nature of the beast . We will survive without White and maybe even maybe finally win the damn Cup without him and if we do then believe me nobody will care who Tim White was .
Reliable Hands Ravenberg!!
Which is 100% fair and in line with the team’s priorities.
Where I object is the idea that White and his four consecutive 1000-yard seasons are “easily” replaced.
It would be interesting to see how many times Tim got targeted on second down. Seemed like Bo leaned very heavily on Lawler and even more toward Kiondre Smith in crucial conversion and red zone situations by the end of last season. We will miss the speed and elusiveness of White though and they are no doubt looking for that in one of the guys that are coming to camp. Bridges isn’t that guy even if he does return.
Interesting observation.
My post was being as positive as I could. Here’s the flip side:
My 17 son, who plays QB for his high-school senior team, can’t stand Timmy. He has been stating for a couple years that Tim rarely has caught a contested or “50/50” ball and will “never” stretch or dive for anything.
I can see both sides.
