“Limited catch radius” is what I believe @Egbert has referred to it as.

…or T-Rex hands as some people called him in the old Forum. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

No player is perfect though, and each will have their strengths and weaknesses. White’s speed will be difficult to replace but we still have 4 months to find a real burner that can compliment this offence.

I’m really looking forward to Free Agency and training camp.

Just realized you’re missing Moochie Dixon WR on here. He might be that burner to replace White as the deep threat.

Oooops!

would you guys say more WR or SB?

Not sure it matters at this point. Same with HB/CB, that’s what camp will be for.

thanks for pointing that out… Im sure will have to move players around after FA

we had him once, thats enough, he’s not big enough to play in the middle

Definitely T-Rex, not physically imposing, fumbles at critical times, drops way too may passes, not really a go up and get it receiver. He catches balls when no body is around him. Let the flames begin

Makes you wonder how he ever accumulated 5500 yards in 5 seasons as a Ti-Cat? :upside_down_face:

Seriously though, White’s good plays far outnumber his blunders.

Question for you Mike. Why is White held to such a higher standard than other players? In each game, Bo throws some errant passes, O-Linemen miss blocks, DBs get burned in coverage, and Kickers miss Field Goals. Yet, their mistakes were not scrutinized anywhere near as much as White’s.

Probably a good time to point out that for all of the “fumbles at critical times” White has, he has exactly two lost fumbles and 3 total fumbles in 5 years. 1 in 2022 and 1 in 2025.

That’s quite the standard we’re holding him to.

Remarkably similar stats and career trajectory between and White and Lawler.

Category Tim White (WR) Kenny Lawler (WR)
CFL Seasons Played 2021–2025 2019–2025
Career Games Played 83 games 81 games
Career Receptions 383 receptions 342 receptions
Career Receiving Yards 5,488 yards 5,551 yards
Career Receiving TDs 33 touchdowns 39 touchdowns
Yards per Reception (Career Avg.) 14.3 yards 16.2 yards
Best Single‑Season Yardage 1,269 yards (2023) 1,443 yards (2025)
Kick/Punt Return Contributions 182 PR yards; 349 KR yards Minimal return usage (1 KR, 0 yards)
All‑Star Selections 3× CFL All‑Star (2022–2024) 2× CFL All‑Star (2021, 2025)

One additional stat that I would also include is career catch rate. Again both are nearly identical to each other with White’s being 64% and Lawler’s is 63.1%

Clearly both are elite and utilize their specific skillset to contribute in their own way.

These stats just prove we also need to jettison Lawler. Not any better than White and more expensive. Let’s sign a bunch of rookies at $70/year. :squinting_face_with_tongue:

He sticks out because he make more stupid mistakes

The other side to this is White might not have enjoyed being relegated to #2 ( or #3) on our depth chart and by our local media.

Even BLM sounded off numerous times this year on how amazing and unbelievable Kenny is. I don’t remember Bo talking this way about White even once in their 3 years together.

Plus Kenny is all over the community and has appeared on some podcasts and has been featured on TSN a few times this year.

If White is no longer a #1, then that would be easier to swallow in a different city.

Tim White is a very good player but if our fanbase had to choose between Lawler or White, and you can only keep one, 99% of people would choose Kenny.

and yet the stats prove otherwise…

One huge problem. You couldn’t depend on Timmy to make that clutch catch. In some games games he was invisible.

That’s a stat that can be hard to find a reason for or even worse to quantify. It’s not likely that Tim took the night off and decided to casually jog through his routes.

Instead, opposing defences keyed in on him, or Bo was finding other receivers open on his first read.

If you check Lawler’s game by game stats, you will notice that he had a few off games as well. In particular, the September 27th game against the Bombers. Bo targetted Lawler 9 times and that only produced 2 receptions for 34 yards. Clearly the Bomber’s defence had a plan.

If healthy then maybe.

He runs a 4.59 and made 190k last year.

Offer him 175k plus incentives .

He played 12 games last year. Hamstring injury caused him to miss the cup.
