I expect Gittens to have a fabulous year with Bo at the helm
and Lawler double covered

Last years receivers if I am BO.

Lawler, Smith and White

I think this year’s group is deeper.

But top 3 I agree.

People are taking like having Timmy and Lawler back together in 2026 was ever actually a real possibility.

Pure informed speculation, but I don’t think Timmy liked playing in Lawler’s shadow in 2025.

I also don’t think the Cats thought he was worth 225k anymore. I also think we had a plan to go with another Canadian starting reciever out of necessity.

So in reality we are, in some ways , in a better position in 2026, especially if Gittens can get even close to 1000 yards.

Formation wise, this should create huge mismatches. Gittens wide, Wheatfall slot, throw in Lawler at slot/wide and 3x3 3x1, 2x2, 4x1. Lets see what the OC does. Smith, Middlemost and Ternoski?

I look at it more like Gittens being an upgrade over O’Leary-Orange. Then it’s up to Wheatfall to step it up to fill the void from White leaving which may or may not happen. I’d say overall we’re probably equal, it’s just where Bo may choose to go with the ball that could change.

Even though he still produced last year it felt like White had gotten a little stale with the Cats. Actually think he will step it up having a fresh start with the Bombers. He did seem to disappear for stretches here even before Lawler arrived. Some QBs and receivers never quite mesh and that may have been the case with Bo and Tim, who knows.

Sho time is back in the Black & Gold 🤩

On the latest episode of Ticats Today, @ShemarBridges17 talks about re-signing in Hamilton, continuing to build his chemistry with Bo Levi Mitchell, and what’s ahead in the 2026 season.

That’s kind of how I started feeling about White last year. He did get a 1000 yards but it sure didn’t feel like it. He seemed to produce in bunches and then go quiet for a while. There was a few times last year that I thought he was injured on the sidelines because I wouldn’t hear his name for long stretches.

Still though a 1000 yards of production is hard to replace, but I think we’ll be just fine in the post-Timmy era.

In fairness to White there were stretches where Lawlor was un-spectacular too.

Lawler was sensational last season, and has earned his status as top receiver in the league

BUT

What we should all be aware of is last year was the first season he played every game.

Kenny exceeded his previous career high in yardage by over 400 yards

Exceed his previous season record for receptions by 22.

Over doubled his previous season high for TD receptions of 6 TDs with 14.

Do we believe last season was the new norm as he approaches 32 years old, or was last season an outlier?

My point being some regression is almost guaranteed.

Lawler is special
His catch radius is nuclear
Garney Henley hands
Best in the League by far, It’s not even close
Having the Bo/Lawler connection is worth the price of admission
and makes the entire receiving corps so much better

You’re under rating him a bit here, imo.

I feel like we’re better at receiver this year, as Crash said were deeper this year.

I would actually prefer that Bo spreads the ball around. This would reduce the wear and tear on Lawler, and give more work to the other very capable receivers in this unit.

Speedy B’s production was insane for those few years that he dominated the league, but we all saw how it took a toll on his body towards the end. We don’t want that to happen to Lawler. We will need a healthy Lawler all through the season if we want to go on a deep run this year.

Don’t know how it would be possible to spread the ball out more than BLM did last season without significantly less rushing which we are all, unanimously, strongly opposed to.

Father Time caught up to Speedy, that and his size contributed to his regression so quickly IMHO.
