Thanks bobo!!
You made me snarf my coffee!

I heard it’s people like me who cause people like you to snarf your coffee and give snarfing a bad name . ![]()
Actually came out today that he broke 6 ribs in his last game with Winnipeg before he signed with us last year
I’m not really sure why an Argo fan would be picking on you, Bobo.
I mean, it’s not like you ever have any strong opinions about anything. ![]()
Wow . It seems like all the receivers who missed out on signing contracts in FA are all just taking the easy way out and are all announcing their retirements because there is no interest from anyone in signing them to a contract . So far we have Dunbar , Wolitarsky and now Rhymes all calling it quits .
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing actually. A lot of these guys are over 30 though, and if there is little interest, they’ve likely lost their bargaining power.
At that point they might as well get a head start on a new career.
Watch how many suddenly decide to unretire in midseason when the injury bug hits .
Don’t players have to pass a physical before a new team will sign them? Or is that not in every contract?
I think that’s pretty standard fare in football. Even if it wasn’t, I’m sure Ted would have known being as they were in Winnipeg together when it happened.
It’s 6-8 weeks for fractured bones to heal. They shouldn’t have had anything to do with the physical.
Surprising. But I guess if Tony Champion and Matt Dunnigan are able to play in Grey Cup games with broken bones, teams don’t care about fractures.
Either way he would have had to pass a physical before training camp. Not a big issue for the team. They also knew Stubblefield likely
Wouldn’t be ready in time for camp but went ahead and signed him. I believe there is now an injured vet designation so that teams don’t necessarily have to count these guys as part of the camp roster
There’s an excellent Sports Medicine doctor I follow on YouTube. I “found” him right after the Demar Hamlin incident. It’s “Brian Sutterer, MD” who does an analysis on sports injuries, explaining the mechanism of the injury, uses a digital tool to show the anatomy of the injury, and explains the treatment and probable recovery of the injury. IIRC, he once talked about broken ribs, and that it’s mostly a pain mitigation thing, nothing to really keep you out of games.
All these players have extensive sports medicine files for every injury and owie they’ve been treated for (including the 2 Advil tablets taken for mild pain). The teams are aware of these, and it’s not only in football. Baseball players are traded for/signed even if they have just had UCL reconstruction (Dylan Cease was traded to the Jays last year while undergoing rehab and ramp-up), and basketball when a player was traded for who had just ruptured his Achilles and missed an entire season, but still signed a massive extension with his receiving team. I don’t have any recent examples in hockey, as I don’t follow it at all these days.
I don’t know Wolitarski’s injury history, and I can’t recall the reason he never really left the IR last season, but I don’t believe that it was the fractured ribs that occurred 6 months before his signing had much to do with it.
Good channel I’ll check it out.
To the point of the ribs: if you’ve ever broken or detached a rib it’s tremendously impactful on physical function. I crashed my bike in whistler a few years ago and had a mild rib detachment and it took easily 3 months to fully heal. Every core movement and for quite a while every breathe was impacted by it. And I didnt have to be worried about linebackers hitting me full out! The road rash was long forgotten while the rib pain still lingered.
We should send @BetweenTheGoalposts
I wonder if Nick would let me come watch if I asked lol
I worked with him pretty extensively last year and did a video for the ‘25 showcase.
