The 27-year-old’s compensation for the 2026 three-down league season was not altered when the new deal was agreed upon. He’s scheduled to earn $684,700 in hard money. That total comes from a $275,000 base salary, $210,000 February 5 active roster bonus, $160,000 in marketing money, $14,700 in housing and a $10,000 training allowance.

In 2027, Rourke’s slated to earn $699,700 in hard money. He could receive a $300,000 base salary, $215,000 February 1 active roster bonus, $160,000 in marketing money, $14,700 in housing and a $10,000 training allowance.

For the final year in his current agreement, the six-foot-one, 209-pound dual-threat QB is expected to earn $704,700 in hard money for the 2028 season.

That’s a lotta’ moola! Is that the highest CFL contract of all time? Or does the $4.5 million for the year paid to Rocket Ismail by the Argos in 1991 count?

Great read here, TUZ!!

Mike Riley signed a similar deal in 2019 with BC. 4 years, 2.9 million. BLM deal with Calgary in 2019 was for about 700k a year.

Bo was offered 800k to go to Toronto that year but he turned it down.

If you factor the smaller cap and inflation, those past deals were actually bigger then Rourke’s.

Flutie and the Rocket made way more in the 90’s in the pre-cap era.

Ownership could do whatever they wanted back then and it almost bankrupted the league by 1993 and caused Montreal and Ottawa to fold more then once.

In 1981 Montreal lured Vince Ferragomo away from the NFL for 600k ( in 1981 dollars)!!

WTF ? So there was a fire at the stadium then ?

I blame the Calgary Flames

Minor fire in garbage bin they say. Actual stadium wasn’t touched.

It looks like someone doctored the image of flames away from the bin to make it more “fun” .

One firefighter and no fire truck? Doctored image for sure by somebody who wants to sensationalize a bin fire.

That’s one helluva long garden hose .

Stadium could burn down and prov govt, of any party, still wouldn’t fund a new one.

Which is weird because didn’t they put up $50+M for the Flames Arena and $150+M for the Oilers arena?

Stamps, UofC and league have begged AB and city govts for years. Even for a refit never mind a brand new one. Clearly the Stamps aren’t any sort of importance politically.
