CFL Discussion Non-Ticat

Outside of Arbuckle that’s really a lot of uncertainty at the number two position across the league. Hopefully we don’t see a lot of qb injuries this year.

Agreed . I’m hoping for only around 3 QB injuries this year . No teams mentioned of course .

We really never saw much of Powell
BUT
With Ford tutoring under BO and Milo
I feel we have improved our QB room with Ford
The ??? will be our newly appointed OC

I agree about seeing the league’s QBs staying healthy.

In past years, the entertainment value would significantly decrease across the league when a lot of the starting QBs get banged up.

It’s a lot easier to market the league when we have teams playing best on best. Even if we do have to keep hearing about Alexander and Kelly every five minutes on a TSN broadcast. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Got news for ya , it doesn’t matter if those two dumb dumbs are injured or not because TSN is still going to be yapping about them nonstop regardless .

Kenny Lawler has long been known for highlight-reel catches and red-zone dominance, but in 2025 he also proved to be one of the league’s most consistent chain-movers. His 63 receiving first downs ranked second in the CFL, according to PFF.

Lawler’s ability to win contested catches and create separation late in routes makes him especially dangerous on second down. Quarterbacks trust him to make a play even when covered, and more often than not, he delivered just enough to keep drives alive.

Coubt Chocula has returned .

Gotta admit on paper that looks like a pretty decent depth chart . The LB crew could possibly be considered one of the best in the league . The offense barring any unforeseen injuries also looks like it could be imposing and at times lethal . They have definitely picked up some very nice pieces so far in this off season that could make things interesting once again in the nation’s capital considering how bad this team has sucked these past 5 or 6 seasons.

Our Offence will be no problem
Bolieve in Lawler

BUT
Our much needed upgrade at MLB is nuclear

“Wynton McManis on defence, however, is a huge boost!”

STE Retires

The 33-year-old was originally an eighth-round pick in the 2017 CFL Draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He spent the first six seasons of his career in Steeltown before joining the Alouettes as a free agent in 2024.

“To the Ticats fanbase and the dedicated Alouettes fans, I thank you for your encouragement, your energy, your passion, and your incredible dedication! You filled me with joy during the best moments and showed incredible support for your team and me during the toughest times. Without you, this league is nothing, and your love for football does not go unnoticed.”

The 2 sketchiest teams after the starters are certainly Calgary and Winnipeg followed by BC. I don’t expect most of these QB2s to win games, but the unproven ones can lose games quickly enough.

However, Collaros’ new contract will now pay him $300,000 in base salary. That came with a $50,000 signing bonus, maxing out at $550,000 in hard money. The 13-year veteran remains the CFL’s third-highest-paid QB behind Nathan Rourke at $684,000 and Chad Kelly at $625,000 for the upcoming campaign.

In case you are wondering

Bo Levi - $485,300 in hard money.
