CFL Discussion Non-Ticat

“It was the right time,” Maas said. “I was spending way too much time (with Maciocia) upstairs, going over personnel. It takes my mind away from tasks on offence. That’s (Calvillo’s) job. He’s in it all day. He’s the one preparing the quarterbacks, doing the things every day to be ready. Trust me, he’s ready"

Perhaps this is the same as Milo handing the playcalling over to Jarryd Baines

The only salary of those three that makes sense is Rourke

I think that is a stupid rule. The two weakest teams in the League should get the bonus picks. To me this is something the CFLPA must have wanted in the last contract. Dumb

Nobody should receive any extra picks regardless. If you suck, too bad, be better. Scrap it all together.

Rich getting richer goes against the entire premise of the draft. It does need to go.

I like the idea of incentivizing teams to play Canadians but rewarding them with additional Canadian talent makes no sense. There’s got to be a better way to reward them. Although one could argue the Canadian depth is reward in itself in a league with minimum national quotas.

I believe that draft rule came into affect
at the same time as the naturalised American counting as a national

Teritorial draft picks were replaced by naturalized Americans

It could quite possibly be both that break that mark this year .

Young fella, what’s up? It’s future you… 27 years into the future.

First off, I’m proud of you. This is your first year playing ball and you did great. Let me update you!

Along the way you broke your ankle and your elbow, which had to be fixed in… pic.twitter.com/q7hzdj4lJG

The Minute Argos signed Dakota Shepley I believe Doxtater was expendable to help balance the books and the fact Shepley is a better player IMO. I thought maybe he could be traded for a 3rd or 4th round pick but apparently there were no takers if that senario was attempted. Could still be picked up by somebody if he wants to take a pay cut. Hamilton would probably be close to home. Winnipeg could use another Canadian OLineman. National players Sage’s size, NCAA back ground and experience aren’t that plentiful.

Maybe an ample reward for playing more Canadians could be a mild increase to the respective team’s salary cap?

It still makes the rich richer I think, but extra draft picks doesn’t make sense whatsoever.

Excellent post. Happy and healthy retirement Bralon!
