Free Agency 2026

Next season when the Goalposts are moved to the back of the endzone and facing 3rd and 2,3 or 4 at the opposing 35 yardline where a FG would be very long
Ford could be a real benefit as a runner/passer

Pivot to Awe if this is the case. If Awe signs elsewhere we are really over a barrell.

He has all the leverage at this point.

Theres a few holdouts every year that know they can drive the price up. I also wonder if Shamar Bridges is in the same boat, he knows hes the backup plan to White.

Things got pretty quiet all of a sudden

Tre Ford signed through 2027. Yeesh. As an Argo fan, I was hoping he’d end up literally anywhere else :rofl:

Yup. Calvillo was a starter too soon in Hamilton. But working with Tracy Ham in Montreal, he fine-tuned his skills, and the rest is history.

Some of my neighbours won’t like this. They love this guy.

Hey as the ST guru around these parts, what does the new returner Xavier Malone look like when compared to the rest of the UFL returners? The numbers look good, but without the context of how that compares it’s kinda useless.

I must have missed his signing with the Cats!

Malone was definitely an above-average returner in the UFL but didn’t quite crack my top 3 in either kickoff or punt returns.

Kickoff Returner rankings;

He did have a huge, 88-yard punt return that inflated his punt return average quite a bit. He should definitely be in the mix and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do on a wider field!

I also mentioned him in this thread discussing Chris Rowland winning returner of the year;

Thanks! The best as always! Did Michigan’s defense suck this year? Why does he have like double the kick returns of a lot of his competition and fewer punt returns?

I don’t really pay attention to offence/defence, especially in these spring leagues :sweat_smile: The UFL page shows that the Michigan defence was middle of the road in terms of points allowed per game.

A big part of it was that most teams had a ton of returners on kickoffs, whether it was due to injury or just trying to find the right fit. San Antonio had 8 different guys fielding kickoffs! Other teams like DC and Birmingham had 2 good returners split the field, forcing kickers to pick their poison.

Michigan seemed content to let Malone handle the vast majority of kickoffs regardless of where the kick landed. At least it shows he won the trust of his STC

Also why are they not working on signing shemar

Other teams have their MLB written in. Not sure who else would pay top dollar for a marginal upgrade.

If he’s healthy, he’s the best in the league.

It’s hard to play with a toothpick in your mouth.

3DOWN love to dramatically speculate.

There’s a chance a deal is 99% done and they’re just working on the little details.

Lawler took all week to sign.
