NHL 2025-2026 Season

Yes, Wolf appears to be the new “Hellebuyck”. The old “Hellebuyck” ain’t what it used to be. Guy is letting in goals from just about all angles - his positioning, which used to be his strong suit seems off.

However, this is more about the Flames. Won’t surprise if at least Rasmus & one of Kadri or Coleman or a 2nd round pick are dispatched (via trade) to bolster their lineup. Flames won’t be a high playoff seed - but could be one of the more dangerous ones coming out of the 12 to 16 slots.

I tend to agree. Something is rotten in Denmark, er Vancouver. The stench emitted even more odious than the light stench of another Jets disappointment.

Jets will just be good enough down the stretch to avoid the embarrassment of drafting a top 3 positional player. As per usual, once their playoff hopes are dashed (last nite’s donation of a point to Toronto didn’t help) Jets will be drafting as they usually do (somewhere between #10 and #21 in the first round. Jets will never allow themselves to be bad enough to pick up a: Crosby/McDavid/McKinnon/Bedard/Celebrini/Makar/Draisitil, etc.

While the Jets never suck - its an organization mired in an atmosphere of perpetual mediocrity. Don’t matter if its deadbeats like Chevyldayoff or Arniel, they’re just built to make other teams look good.

Flames started the first quarter of the season with an abysmal 5-13-3 record.

However, since then the Flames have gone 16-10-1.

If they keep that up they could pull themselves right up to a Wildcard spot, or even 3rd in the weak Pacific Division. With the exception of Vegas and Edmonton, the rest of the teams in that division are muddling around in mediocrity.

As we all know all too well,
There will only be one team and one teams fanbase
That will be happy at the seasons end
Whether it’s Hockey, Football or Baseball

Well then I might as well pack it in for this season because it sure won’t be my team. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It’s not just the problems in the dressing room, farting around and playing with your self trying to make a really good deal in a guy publicly labelled a troublemaker is a huge mistake.
If you can’t make a deal right away put him on waivers.

Wow Sherwood to the Sharks…am…am…I buying the Celebrini hype and Sherwood hype and getting interested in the Sharks?

I brought this up last season. Sometimes things are not as they appear.

Colorado, plays in the “Strong” central division? Not quite strong. 4 reasonably strong teams and 4 of the weakest teams in the league.
Where in the pacific yes there is Vancouver, but the Ducks, Kraken, and Sharks hold that middle ground AND with the compressed schedule teams have easy and hard parts of their schedule this season.

So…..while Leafs fans are happy they are chasing a playoff spot - I see they are getting their ass kicked by the Wild, and they play Detroit, Vegas, Av’s, Sabers, Kraken, and Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton before the break.

Think they will gain or lose ground on that playoff spot?

Depends. Leafs can be streaky. Beating teams that they shouldn’t and then losing against bottom feeders.

A lot of fans saying that this year has been pretty wacky so far across the NHL.

I know I’m late to the game on this but that game between the Oilers and Canucks. Woof!

The Canucks look like Mites at how easy they let the Oilers transition for 6 second period goals.

It’s going to be a long long road back to NHL relevance for the Canucks, loooonnngg way back.

After the Oiler’s 5th goal, I love the look of indifference on the face of Canuck’s Head Coach Adam Foote.

It’s almost like he knows the Canucks are supposed to tank, and the 5 goals against were all part of the plan. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The announcers sound like they are hyping up a WWE wrestling brawl.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a story concerning
Ottawa Goalie Linus Ullmark and the Ottawa Senators team.
I want to post this from Linus and his battle with Mental Health to set the record straight.

In mid-January, a burner social media account shared a rumour speculating why Ullmark had left the team. Many in the hockey world disregarded it, but the fire quickly started to burn.

The Senators released a statement earlier this month defending their goaltender and several other players involved in the rumour. Brady Tkachuk would go on to speak up against the rumours, while Ullmark would share his thoughts with Hanna.

“I was very upfront with the team, telling them there’s a mental health issue, because it was,” Ullmark said. “And I didn’t have the tools to deal with it. Things would just kind of spiral afterwards. And then, (Senators’ vice-president of communications Ian Mendes) told me when I came back here that the rumours that was being spread about me and my family started the day after I take an absence of leave.

“And people wonder why hockey players – professional athletes – are not talking. Why we’re not showing any sort of emotions. Why mental health in men and in women are a stigma. It took them less than 24 hours from my absence of leave to try to find reasons to why I’m gone. Saying that I’m a homewrecker, a person that no one likes in the team. And I can’t defend myself.

“I didn’t know about this until days later,” he continued. And it sucks, because I have a family. I have a wife, I have kids. They get sent text messages asking, “Hey, are you guys good?” I’m like, “Yeah, why?” And then they tell you about it the rumours and you’re like, “What the f— is wrong with people?”
