My bad, you are correct. I do remember some videos of him punting, possibly in camp with Green Bay and he did back in high school. Pretty sure he’s done kickoffs as well. Would be nice to have a Canadian option if anything happens to Liegghio

JJ is an incredible kicker. Unfortunately he had a foot injury that prevented him from playing last season and he wasn’t drafted/signed by any of the new head coaches.

Great guy too I’ve spoken to him a couple of times. Descendant of THE Molson brewing company family.

It had to have been done either overnight or earlier this morning . Yesterday it was showing the old roster from last year for the most part .

Much faster updating this year. And all of the guys have proper ages. Bohler is the only one without height or weight. Credit where it’s due, they’ve done better this off-season, though still not all you’d expect from a professional sports organization.

There was a time not to long ago when as soon as 12:02 on FA day came the old names were automatically taken off and the new ones added a very short time after they were signed . I just checked and they still don’t have every player signed as of yet on the roster .

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed National defensive lineman Charbel Dabire, the team announced today.

Dabire, 29, spent time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2019-2025) after being selected in the fifth round (44th overall) of the 2019 CFL Draft. The 6-0, 300-pound native of Burkina Faso appeared in 58 regular season games, recording 41 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble, and was a member of Saskatchewan’s Grey Cup championship roster in 2025.

Collegiately, Dabire played at New Mexico Military Institute (2015) before transferring to Wagner (2016-2018), where he appeared in 33 games, totaling 73 tackles (47 solo), 2.5 sacks, one pass defended, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick returned for a touchdown.

More interior national depth is good but we still don’t have the top end guy for me to be excited about having that be a ratio spot.

There’s no DTs that are top players that are avail

And thus I will not be comfortable with this being a ratio spot.

The only Canadian DT left that might be worth a look see would be maybe JM Pelley . Besides that in the Cdn DT department the cupboard seems to be bare .

Maybe build a rotational National DT position.

We couldn’t be worse than last year as long as we keep signing 300 lbs guys with a bit of a motor.

You don’ need a top guy if you’re rotating 8 Dlinemen.

I disagree. You can’t just string together backups and expect starter production. Rotation is good for keeping guys fresh and maximizing performance of the guys you have but you still need guys who are starter quality imo

Just got back from the autograph session. Had a nice talk with Tre Ford, Wynton McManis, Tyson Middlemost, Keric Wheatfall, Trevor Reid, Kene Oyeka, Charbiel Dabrie..

The team had to wait until Greg Bell signed with Ottawa so that Tre Ford could move from 2 to 5 for jersey #

Weird. Bell wasn’t under contract with us. Why would we hold his # for him?

Agreed if it was that every team would do it. Rotating D linemen isn’t a novel concept. Teams do it but you still need talent.

because in case things didnt work out with Ottawa or if maybe Hamilton decideed last minute to sign him for cheaper instead of him taking the money from Ottawa I was told that because Ford was taking 5 and Bell already had 5 they had to wait until the Bell signing was official with Ottawa first

Who am I to say

But

If a team wants to strip a number even from an existing player, I think they can.
