:ticats: Ticats 2026

I think the Ti-Cats organization learned a hard lesson back in 2017 when they hired Art Briles as an Assistant Coach. Fans quickly let the team know what they thought of the scandal-plagued coach. The Cats immediately fired him and later Scott Mitchell went into damage control mode calling it “a poor decision”.

Since then the Cats have not really had any problems like that. Although they have brought in a couple of hot-heads that caused some unfortunate disturbances on the field. I’m thinking of Will Hill and known agitator Chris Edwards. Those guys got the boot pretty quick though.

I was all in until…….Cats also added another starting-level tackle in Eric Lofton from the Blue Bombers.

According to Milton’s article, it looks like the 7th Canadian starter will most likely come from the D-line.

2 recievers, 3 O-linemen, 1 Free Safety, 1 from the D-line.

Unless I’m missing something.

If Tre Ford ever gets to start ( I hope not unless it’s game 18) , this would allow a bit more flexibility as well.

(Before people disagree about Ford’s status, it was confirmed in this message board, that a Canadian QB does count towards your starting Canadian 7, if they are starting, but does not count as one of the 21 Canadian Roster spots if they are not starting)

Didn’t they sign that receiver last year or in 2024 who had a checkered past and never came to camp?

Why give tryouts to criminals, borderline criminals and official players doing excessively sketchy things off field that embarras the team (and what to do with them) are two different things.

I heard that. I think it makes the most sense with this roster because you’re going to be rotating through so much and Howsare as Designated Nationalized American allows 25 plays of an all American D-Line.

The other option though is Augustine for 6 Canadian starters on Offense with 25 plays of 5 Canadians with Lawler acting as DNA with Rountree coming in for Augustine. There would also be the opportunity to put Ford in at Wildcat for maybe 5-10 plays and 5-10 plays of heavy personnel extra OL/FB/Bruggeling.

I remember that signing and issue too. That receiver never made it here for some nebulous reason.

I was thinking the same thing . The guy got into some trouble with the law and I believe was cut from the Falcons if I remember correctly . I can’t recall his exact charges. I think it was a DUI charge and resisting arrest or something along those lines . Nevertheless we signed him and there was much discussion about him in a thread in the old forum and it turned out he never did show up for camp . Can’t recall his name though at the moment .

Had some suspicions about who signed him, so I did some digging. My suspicions were confirmed. The GM was Ed Hervey. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Our current FO assigned a guy who pointed a loaded weapon at someone and threatened to kill them. It’s not just something we can attribute to Ed

We also signed Chris Edwards after he attacked one of our fans. Wonder what @bobo82 thinks of that “era”
